Tomorrow’s Discussing Everything will take place at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT. Bumping the event back a half hour seemed to work well enough last week, so we’re doing the same thing this week!

As far as what we’ll be talking about, there was a surprising amount of news over the past few days. The most interesting things were found through new interviews with Shigeru Miyamoto. We’ll discuss the important bits he shared and probably a few other topics as well.

Happy 10th birthday, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door!

ON THIS EPISODE: We’re back! For a moment. To signify our triumphant return we bring you one of the funnier episodes we’ve ever had amidst a flurry of game discussion about Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Bayonetta 2, Castlevania, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It’s a bit tangled and messy, but what are you gonna do? Fire us?

PLUS: A little bit of podcast navel-gazing and story time as we discuss how things went for 102 episodes, our favorite moments, some behind-the-scenes trivia, and the future of the show.

AND: A huge pile of listener mail with lots of kind words about the show, discussion of Zelda, our lesser-known game recommendations, our favorite eShop games, and much more. Will we ever be back? Nobody gets to know that except lord Elrond himself.

PlatinumGames updated its official blog yet again with another post about Bayonetta 2. This time around, we get to hear about the game’s conceptual design.

Check out a few excerpts below:

As you can see, the base tones for the original Bayonetta were red and black, whereas in Bayonetta 2 they’re blue (representing Bayonetta) and gold (representing the game’s enemies). Compared to the image above it, you can tell the bottom screen gives off a much brighter, vivid impression.

What was so difficult about this was that while Bayonetta’s key color was blue, the key color for Aesir’s power was blue as well. Ultimately we resolved this issue by changing this mysterious power of Aesir’s to an emerald green, but it’s still kind of hard for players to discern, so I gave Aesir his own unique line patterns in his design to draw distinction from Bayonetta.

Head on over to the PlatinumGames website for the full post.

Thanks to Kirby and the Rainbow Curse’s upcoming Japanese launch, we knew that the game would be seeing a budget release of some sort. We just weren’t entirely sure how much the price would be in the west.

New listings on EB Games and Amazon Canada seem to reveal Kirby’s updated price in North America. On both retailer sites, the game is listed for $44.99 CDN. That would translate to $39.99 in the states (based on Captain Toad’s pricing). It should end up being a pretty great value!

A listing on Amazon contains some new art for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. View all of the images above.
