Super Smash Bros. for Wii U can now be pre-loaded in North America and Europe. It’s the first title on Nintendo’s console to make use of the functionality.
Pre-loading allows Wii U owners to buy games in advance and have them downloaded before release. Most of the game data will be downloaded at the time of pre-purchase while the system is in Standby mode. The final data needed to unlock Smash Bros. Wii U will be automatically downloaded at midnight Eastern time on November 21.
You can buy Smash Bros. Wii U in advance directly from the eShop or by purchasing a download code from retailers. Additionally, the title can be pre-ordered on Nintendo.com. Pre-orders on the company’s website now support the same pre-load capability. Those who have pre-ordered the digital version of the game on Nintendo.com using their Nintendo Network ID will be emailed a redemption code within 72 hours. Once redeemed, they will also be able to pre-load the game.
You’ll find Nintendo’s official Smash Bros. Wii U pre-load announcement below.
Famitsu brought us the surprising news yesterday that Rodea: The Sky Soldier is still in development. That’s despite the fact that the game was announced nearly four years ago. Rodea is still coming to 3DS, but it’s now heading to Wii U (the latter version also features the original Wii game that never released).
Earlier today, Famitsu posted an official about Rodea: The Sky Soldier. Along with several fresh screenshots, there are a few new details to read up on as well. You can find all of the latest content below.
– Begins on the floating continent of Garuda
– A curious girl named Ion discovers and reactivates Rodea in the ruins of Garuda
– Rodea is the legendary “Majin” machine soldier
– Was in a 1,000 year slumber
– Rodea lost his memory and is found with his right arm completely destroyed
– All that remains of his memory is a “fierce battle from the past” and “a girl with facial features similar to Ion”
– Rodea and Ion team up to fight against the machine empire of Naga
– Naga is approaching Garuda with the aim to capture the continent’s “Gravity Energy”
The credits of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham seem to tease the future of LEGO video games. At one point, players are shown a Tyrannosaurus Rex with the Jurassic Park theme song.
We do know that LEGO will be making Jurassic World sets in 2015. There has been speculation about a video game as well. Maybe we’ll hear something next year then…
