interview

Earlier today, we heard that Human: Fall Flat is getting a physical version. It’s the very first release from Super Rare Games. GamesIndustry spoke with George Perkins to learn more about the company.

Each of Super Rare Games’ releases will consist of 5,000 copies. Additionally, the plan is to maintain a price point of $34.99 / £29.99 for all titles, meaning there won’t be a price increase.

Japanese outlet Entertainment Station published two new interviews with Yusuke Soejima and Park Masashi who lead the way on Nintendo’s indie efforts in Japan. When asked about the difference between indie games and conventional titles and how they’re recognized, Masashi stated that they’re viewed equally.

Masashi told Entertainment Station (via Fukuzatsu):

Back in December, Shin Megami Tensei V producer Kazuyuki Yamai said that the game’s development was in a “scrap-and-build phase.” But in a new interview with 4Gamer, Yamai has indicated that full-scale development has now started.

4Gamer asked about the status of Shin Megami Tensei V in a recent interview. In response, Yamai stated (as translated by Persona Central):

Playism is starting to get its feet wet on Switch. The company just published TorqeL: Physics Modified Edition on the eShop, with Kero Blaster and Croixleur Sigma also slated for this year.

Even more Switch games from Playism could be on the way. The studio’s Shunji Mizutani expressed admiration for the hardware in an interview with Dengeki. He said that some titles are a good fit while others aren’t, though Playism have a few other games under consideration. Fans are asked to wait for future announcements.

Japanese outlet Diamond put up a couple of new interviews this week with Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima. In one of the interviews, Kimishima talked about topics such as mobile. The other discussion touched on a few other things including Switch’s stock situation.

As part of a new collaboration with NIS America, a brand new fighting game from SNK is coming to Switch. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is launching on Nintendo’s console this summer.

Recently, producer Yasuyuki Oda and director Kaito Soranaka were kind enough to field some questions about the game from Nintendo Everything. The two developers spoke about Switch, confirmed different game modes that will be present, and more.

You can read our full interview with Oda and Soranaka below.

In Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the weather and environment around you are more important than ever before. Link goes up against some tough conditions, ranging from the blazing heat to frigid temperatures depending on your location. The weather is also a key element when scaling mountains. When it starts raining, you can bet that climbing will become much more difficult.

Giving players control of the weather was actually something the Zelda: Breath of the Wild team considered, according to Hidemaro Fujibayashi. The game’s director explained to Game Informer this month why it ultimately didn’t make sense in the end: it wouldn’t have been as fun and “would have increased the number of variables in the world.”

ResetERA recently sent some questions to Chucklefish. Technical director Rodrigo Monteiro, programmer Tom Coxon, and CEO / designer Finn Brice were asked about a wide variety of topics, many of which were Nintendo-related. The team discussed Pocket Rumble’s delay, why Stardew Valley doesn’t have touch controls on Switch, cross-platform play for Wargroove, future support, and the possibility of Starbound on Nintendo’s console.

You can find the full roundup on these topics below. For the full interview, head on over here.

Destructoid recently caught up with Guilty Gear director and designer Daisuke Ishiwatari. Ishiwatari spoke about the future of the franchise, and was asked about Switch.

Regarding Guilty Gear possibly appearing on Nintendo’s console, Ishiwatari explained that it might not be a “good match” due to the need for “high quality graphics.” However, he did also say that Arc System Works hasn’t made a final decision and is “still working on that.”
