Ubisoft EMEA boss Alain Corre recently shared some words about the NX, stating that the console could “recapture a lot of the lapsed Wii players.” Yves Guillemot, CEO of the company, has since weighed in on the new platform as well.

When asked by Game Informer if Ubisoft will be present during NX’s launch window, Guillemot responded:

“You can expect we’ll support Nintendo. Nintendo is one of the best partners in the world.”

Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends will be receiving two more DLC packs in the months ahead. One based on Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks is due in September, followed by another for A Link Between Worlds in November.

It now seems that characters for both packs have been outed early. Since this falls into spoiler territory, head past the break for more information.

Digger Dan DX only just launched a couple of months ago, but the game has been put in a very unfortunate situation. Due to a takedown notice from First Star Software, who holds the rights to Boulder Dash, Nintendo told developer that the title needs to be removed. Four Horses says it doesn’t have the money to fight the claim, so that basically means it’s the end for Digger Dan DX.

Four Horses said:

I’ve received notice from Nintendo this morning that Digger Dan DX is being pulled from both NOA and NOE eShops as they have received a takedown notice from First Star Software, owners of the rights to Boulder Dash.

I’ve not found details of the copyrights they have registered yet so am unable to determine what rights they think it has broken, but as far as I can tell, it is likely to be gameplay elements which I am pretty sure cannot be protected by copyright.

Regardless, Nintendo are pulling it (it is currently still on the NOE eShop, not sure about NOA), and I don’t have the money to fight them, so Digger Dan is no more.

We can confirm that Digger Dan DX has been removed if North America. It’s apparently still up in the game, but definitely not for very long. It’s a very unfortunate situation.

Update 2 (7/1): The second part is now live here. Looks like these are going up quicker than expected!

Original (6/30): Nintendo UK has put up a new transcript of a conversation held between Miitomo producer Yoshio Sakamoto and EarthBound creator Shigesato Itoi. The two go over the origins of the app that debuted a few months ago.

You can read the full discussion here. Five more parts will be added to the page over the next few weeks.

Yo-kai Watch originally came to Japan in 2013. However, it wasn’t until last year that the franchise appeared in North America.

In an interview with USgamer, Hino talked about the wait for Yo-kai Watch in the west, telling the site:

“In Japan, Level-5 is a known company and we have a good relationship with various companies. But here in the west, it takes time to actually build a relationship with some of the big companies. Since Level-5 isn’t just known for just its name, we have had to build up a level of trust, which we see as one of our biggest challenges.

We realized that our company was finally mature enough to set up a company here. So we think that was one of the factors.”

The Pokemon Company has now sent out an official announcement about today’s news pertaining to new Pokemon featured in Sun/Moon.

First, we have the following art:

And here’s the lineup of Pokemon:

Name: Tapu Koko

Type: Electric/Fairy

Tapu Koko is the guardian deity of Melemele Island, one of the islands of the Alola region. Tapu Koko’s Ability is Electric Surge, an Ability which has never been seen before. The Electric Surge Ability fills the field around the Pokémon’s feet with electricity when it appears, raising the power of any Electric-type moves for Pokémon on the ground and preventing any Pokémon from falling asleep.

Name: Charjabug

Type: Bug/Electric

Charjabug is the first Evolution of Grubbin, a new Alola region Pokémon revealed last month. Charjabug’s Battery Ability allows it to raise the power of allies’ special moves.

Along with newly-revealed Pokemon, a returning feature has been confirmed for Sun/Moon. We now know that it will be possible to ride Pokemon in the two games. You can see how this looks in Sun/Moon through the screenshot above.

Splatoon will be receiving its latest update next week. Version 2.9.0 will be going out during the evening of July 5 in North America, and the early morning hours of July 6 in Europe.

After applying the update, players will be able to use the new Callie and Marie amiibo. Weapons are being balanced, a small stage adjustment will be implemented, and there will be some multiplayer bug fixes.

Head past the break for the full patch notes for Splatoon version 2.9.0. Note that 373MB of free space will be required for the update.

Update: Nintendo has sent out the following statement which officially confirms Mofitt’s departure:

“Scott Moffitt, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has decided to leave Nintendo of America. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Scott will continue to work through the end of July. Nintendo has a strong group of seasoned leaders in place who will step in to assume the full responsibilities of the role on a permanent basis, with the objective of driving more collaboration and greater efficiencies across these groups and among the respective leaders. We thank Scott for his years of service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Scott Mofitt joined Nintendo in 2011. IGN is now reporting that the company’s executive VP of sales and marketing is departing this summer.

According to IGN’s sources, Moffitt and Nintendo’s split was “amicable.” While the executive VP of sales and marketing position has been around since 2011, it’s now apparently being retired. Various Nintendo employees will assume the responsibilities of the role going forward.
