It took more than two decades, but Star Fox 2 is finally seeing the day of light after so many years. Nintendo will be including the game on the Super NES Classic Edition later this year.

Dylan Cuthbert was among the developers who worked on Star Fox 2 way back in the day. As it turns out, that isn’t the only game Nintendo put on hold after it was so close to completion.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Cuthbert vaguely spoke about a DS game – apparently “one of Miyamoto’s pet projects” – that was 90 percent complete:

“There is a game we worked on with Nintendo, one of Miyamoto’s pet projects for the DS, but apart from that I can’t divulge anything. It got canceled at about a 90% state of completion but didn’t go through Mario Club or the QA process. It was a pretty interesting project!”

Sadly, Cuthbert didn’t say anything else about the project. That only leaves us to speculate as to what the game was and why Nintendo put the breaks on it.

Namco Museum is about a month off, with Bandai Namco announcing today that the digital collection of titles is heading to Switch on July 28. This news applies to both North America and Europe.

We also have this overview:

PAC-MAN VS. is a four-player game based on the PAC-MAN series, originally created by Toru Iwatani. It was developed by Nintendo in 2003 under supervision by legendary game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. In PAC-MAN VS., three players work together as the iconic ghosts and hunt down the fourth player, who has taken on the role of PAC-MAN, as they evade the ghosts and clear the maze of Pac Dots. Two Switch units are required to play as up to three ghosts play on one console and the PAC-MAN character plays on the other.

With NAMCO MUSEUM, players will be transported back to the days when coin-operated arcades reigned supreme for a truly nostalgic experience. Through the Nintendo Switch, retro arcade classics can be played anytime, anywhere, and against anyone through the game’s online ranking system (PAC-MAN VS. will not be supporting online ranking system). Players nostalgic for the classic coin-op era can transform their Nintendo Switch into a miniature arcade cabinet by turning the handheld console vertically for a taller, slimmer screen that replicates the original arcade experience. The NAMCO MUSEUM classic catalog includes favourites from Namco’s classic arcade collection, including PAC-MAN VS., PAC-MAN, Dig Dug, Galaga, Galaga ‘88, The Tower of Druaga, Rolling Thunder, Rolling Thunder 2, Sky Kid, Splatterhouse, and Tank Force.

Namco Museum will be priced at $29.99 / €29.99.

Warner Bros. has announced The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game, and it’s planned for Switch.

Here’s what we know:

In the game, players battle their way through waves of enemies with honor and skill as their favorite ninjas Lloyd, Nya, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane and Master Wu to defend their home island of Ninjago from the evil Lord Garmadon and his Shark Army. To do so, they must master the art of Ninjagility which allows them to traverse Ninjago by wall-running, high-jumping and battling the foes of Ninjago to rank up and upgrade the ninja’s combat skills. Players can harness the power of Spinjitzu combat to defend Ninjago together.

The game features eight large, action-packed locations based on the story of The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. Each location includes its own unique Challenge Dojo where players can put their combat skills to the test and battle with increasingly tougher enemies. And with Battle Maps, players can go up against their friends and family in four different game modes, with competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game launches on September 22 in North America and October 6 in Europe. Watch a trailer below.

In the company of a variety of unlikely allies with their own pasts and agendas, Alushe’s strong desire to save Liliana gives her the strength to scatter the shadows shrouding the world and motivation to uncover the shocking truth behind the mysterious Queen of the Moon.

The penultimate blog post from Nintendo counting down to the release of DLC Pack 1 for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now live. This post talks about how Majora’s Mask was added to DLC Pack 1 and what the mask does in game when Link has it equipped.

Hello, I’m Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda™: Breath of the Wild.

DLC pack 1, The Master Trials will finally be released tomorrow, and today, I’m going to introduce you the final piece of equipment, Majora’s Mask. (This DLC is available only through the purchase of the Expansion Pass. Full version of the game is required to use this DLC.)

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was originally released for Nintendo 64™, and the remake was released for Nintendo 3DS™. Majora’s Mask is the scary, cursed mask mentioned in the game’s title.

When the development team started discussing including armor items associated with previous The Legend of Zelda games, I was the first one to speak up: “Please add Majora’s Mask!”

Update: Bumped to the top. All done. Some interesting responses from Tatsumi Kimishima, Shigeru Miyamoto, and others. We’ve rounded everything up below.

One of the big feature requests Switch owners have at the moment is the ability to backup and transfer save data. Thankfully, this is something that Nintendo was apparently thinking about before the system even launched.

The full Switch SDK leaked online today. We’re not really going to discuss it much here, but a couple of excerpts from official documents are worth pointing out.

The first concerns a save data transfer feature that will be released in the future:

In the future, we plan to provide a feature to transfer account save data among multiple consoles. As a result, there is the possibility that user accounts with uninitialized account save data will be added. Note that your design must work without issue, even in this case.
