NIS America is localizing Nintendo’s Culdcept Revolt, the company announced today. The game will be released in the west this summer.
This is a pretty big announcement, as Nintendo originally published Culdcept Revolt in Japan last year. Localization was starting to look unlikely, but now NISA is handling the title for North American and European 3DS owners.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard says Nintendo is now a “very good partner”, praises Switch

Speaking with GameSpot, Bethesda game director Todd Howard said that Nintendo was “less interested” in the company’s games in the past. However, that has since changed.
Howard noted that Nintendo has been a “very good partner” for Bethesda in its effort to bring Skyrim to the Switch. “Whereas before they were less interested in the types of things that we did or some other groups did,” he said.
Howard also had some praise for Switch. Regarding the new platform, he had this to say:
“I think it’s really smart what they’ve done. I think it’s the kind of device that only Nintendo could make. It’s exciting to bring Skyrim to the Nintendo audience. I don’t know where it’s gonna go. But I think it’s a really smart platform. We like it a lot.”
Reconfirmed: eShop purchases on Switch are tied to Nintendo Accounts
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 84 Comments
With the Switch unboxing video that emerged earlier today, we have an important reconfirmation about how the system handles eShop purchases.
Much like with Wii U and 3DS, you can link a Nintendo Account to Nintendo’s new system. On Switch, doing so will allow for all eShop purchases to be tied to that account rather than the system. If you remove that link but re-link it at another point, it’s possible to redownload software or DLC that you purchased. Nintendo does say that discontinued software may be unavailable for redownload “in some cases.”
Reggie had previously indicated that eShop purchases could be tied to a Nintendo Account on Switch. Thankfully, now we have another confirmation straight from the system.

The NPD report for January is in. No Nintendo titles were present in the top ten, but we do still have some news about sales in the United States last month.
NPD reports that the NES Classic Edition outsold Wii U, making it the third best-selling console of the month. Perhaps unsurprisingly at the month, the hardware managed to outsell Wii U.

Gamer gets hands on Switch early, shows off OS

Update: This looks to be real. Video of the OS is below.
NeoGAF member hiphoptherobot has apparently managed to secure a Switch unit nearly two weeks before release. He claims to have been “lucky” – meaning he’s not a member of the media.
hiphoptherobot shared some photos of his find, including a new image of the Switch UI. It definitely looks legitimate, but in this day and age, you can never be too sure. We’ll keep this post updated with any additional information or images that may come in.
Thanks to Matthew M for the tip.

Ultimate Chicken Horse coming to Switch
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 1 Comment
Ultimate Chicken Horse is coming to consoles, including Switch. Clever Endeavour Games shared the news with Eurogamer today.
Categorized as a party platformer, Ultimate Chicken Horse is a game “where you build the level as you play, taking turns placing traps and hazards and trying to screw your friends out of a win.” There are a bunch of blocks to use, customizable game modes, and more.
Originally, Ultimate Chicken Horse debuted on PC last year. This new version of the game contains a Free Play mode in which players can make their own levels from scratch rather than simply place objects into existing terrain.
Ultimate Chicken Horse doesn’t have a release date on Switch yet, but it’s targeted for this summer. A trailer for the game is below.
