Pokemon 25th anniversary

Earlier today, it was announced that Pokemon has teamed up with Post Malone for a special virtual music concert on February 27. There’s more to come besides that for the series’ 25th anniversary, however.

In announcing the partnership with Post Malone, it was also teased that fans can look forward to “more announcements that week from across the franchise.” This will all be happening during the same week – meaning the end of the February essentially.

Nintendo has launched a new service aimed at new customers looking for answers. The Nintendo Switch Concierge service is a no-cost program that allows Switch users to schedule one-on-one meetings with Nintendo representatives to ask questions or receive guidance about set-up.

These sessions are scheduled via the Nintendo Switch Concierge internal website and are available as video calls on Microsoft Teams between representatives and users. There is a little set-up required, with users needing to pick a topic they’d like to discuss, a time for the meeting, and filling in some information. This is all put into a chart on the website (pictured below), and then Nintendo will email those with meetings with more details.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie

The follow-up to the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie now has an official name. While not much of a surprise, the upcoming film will be titled Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

A teaser announcing the title was shared today. It emphasizes that Tails will be a big part of the movie.

Here’s the 10-second teaser in full:

Yesterday, author and game developer Matthew Taranto announced and opened and funded a Kickstarter campaign for Gamemaster Classified: Inside Stories and Secrets from Nintedo’s History. This book covers a lot of Nintendo’s history as a company from the perspective of Taranto, as well as co-authored by Howard Phillips, Nintendo of America’s 1980s spokesperson. Here’s the official overview:

After a decade in the role, Roger Craig Smith will no longer be voicing Sonic the Hedgehog. SEGA hasn’t announced who will be taking over the role moving forward, but some fans are hoping it’ll be Ben Schwartz – who played the character in last year’s movie.

For what it’s worth, Schwartz says he hasn’t given the possibility much thought, though he’s a big fan of Sonic and the fan base. Additionally, he mentioned to ComicBook.com that “nobody’s had a conversation with me about any of that.”
