Hallmark’s 2021 gaming ornaments revealed

It’s usually around this time when we hear about the latest ornament offerings from Hallmark. The tradition continues with lots of designs having been revealed featuring Nintendo as well as Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, and more.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania rating surfaces

SEGA may soon be revisiting its Super Monkey Ball franchise. Over in Australia, a rating for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania just surfaced.
Super Monkey Ball has had strong ties to Nintendo platforms since its debut nearly two decades ago, so we’d hope that any new entries would end up on Switch. At the end of 2019, SEGA released Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD on Switch.

Nintendo shares special art for the 20th anniversary of Animal Crossing

The Animal Crossing franchise is officially 20 years old. In Japan, the series first debuted on April 14, 2001.
Animal Crossing first started out as an N64 title, which was Japan-exclusive. It received an updated version on the GameCube at the end of 2001, with a worldwide release happening later.
The latest Animal Crossing game, New Horizons, came to Switch last March.

Nintendo Minute – “Who’s That Pokemon? Featuring New Pokemon Snap”

Super Nintendo World construction picking up at Universal Studios Hollywood

While Super Nintendo World recently opened in Japan, there are plans to expand the theme park to other parts of the world. One upcoming location is in California, or more specifically, Universal Studios Hollywood.
Updates this week show off the latest progress. First up is the photo above, which was snapped by Twitter user Inside Universal. Also available is a look at construction from YouTuber jsland – see the footage below starting at 7:23.

Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear plushies revealed

Build-A-Bear is teaming up with Nintendo to produce new plushies based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. At least initially, fans will be able to get their hands on two products featuring Tom Nook and Isabelle. Both have options for either phrases or music.
Animal Crossing fans can expect the initial Build-A-Bear orders to ship this summer. Build-A-Bear is taking orders starting today, though due to high demand, visitors are being placed in a waiting room. They’re priced at $51 each.
E3 2021 announced for June, Nintendo participating

Original: It’s been announced that E3 2021 is set to return following a year-long absence. Several companies have confirmed their intent to attend, including Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two, Warner Bros and Koch Media. However, it appears that Sony, EA, Activision Blizzard, SEGA, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix will not be involved – at least as things stand now.
The ESA has yet to share full details about this year’s E3. It does note that developers will be “showcasing their latest news and games directly to fans around the world”. The ESA will be working with media to “amplify and make this content available to everyone for free”.
ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis said in a statement:

[Interview] A chat with voice actor Lizzie Freeman – Cris Tales, love for Nintendo, and more

Lizzie Freeman has had a number of different voice roles in gaming and anime over the past few years, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Sword Art Online, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Dragalia Lost. She’s also voicing Zas in Cris Tales, one of the RPG’s main characters.
We recently had a chance to speak with Freeman about her role in Cris Tales and other topics. Outside of the upcoming Switch game, she spoke about how she became involved with voice acting, shared advice for those aspiring to get involved in the same field, spoke about her love for Nintendo, and more.

My Nintendo adds new Bravely Default II rewards in North America

A few new My Nintendo rewards are now available in North America based on Bravely Default II.
The first reward is a printable personality quiz, which is entirely free. A pair of wallpapers are also up for grabs for 50 Platinum Points each.
