Is Nintendo recalling all Wii U Basic Set consoles? That’s what the latest rumor suggests.

An alleged company-wide email coming from GameStop states that all Basic Sets are being recalled, which could potentially pave the way for new bundles or a repackaging of some sort.

Perhaps introducing a white version of the Wii U Premium Set would be the way to go? Nintendo just announced last week that it will be making this very product available in Japan next month.

Update: One note on the Fox Engine – Bhatti says he doesn’t know if it’s compatible with Wii U or not.

PES European community manager Adam Bhatti has been tweeting up a storm as fans continue to inquire about Konami’s decision in not bringing this year’s soccer game to Wii U.

In one tweet, Bhatti said that there is “no demand for it”, though he went on to clarify that the Wii U’s install base is “tiny”. As a result, it “doesn’t make sense” to bring PES 2014 to the console.

Bhatti went on to say that Nintendo doesn’t “have any relationship with 3rd parties really. Our games never do well.” Other tweets tackle the fact that previous games on Wii have had difficulty selling one million copies, a hint that Fox Engine isn’t running on Wii U, and… well, the entire lineup of tweets just aren’t favorable to Nintendo.

You can get a look at some of Bhatti’s comments below:

In a new message posted on the official Shadow of the Eternals website, Precursor Games CEO Paul Caporicci announced that the company will be ending its current crowdfunding efforts for the game. Caporicci teased “exciting opportunities” after receiving lots of support from the community.

Precursor is now planning a re-launch, which will go live in “a few short weeks”. All donations given to the studio through the current crowdfunding campaigns will be returned.

Caporicci’s message in full reads:

To our community,

Since we announced this Kickstarter campaign we have seen more support from our community than we had ever hoped for. Along with this support has come a host of a new exciting opportunities that will make the game better than we envisioned. As a result, we have chosen to temporarily take down the Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaigns on both Kickstarter and our own website on Thursday, June 6.

This doesn’t mean we are going away — far from it. We’ll be re-launching the Kickstarter in just a few short weeks with a reveal of these exciting new developments.

Not much has changed when it comes to the Tales series on next-gen consoles. Producer Hideo Baba has once again said that there are no plans to bring the IP to the Wii U, the PlayStation 4, or Xbox One.

Baba said:

”Same as the Xbox One and PS4, I don’t have any plans to release titles for the Wii U.”

Baba and Namco Bandai as a whole are staying committed to the PlayStation 3. Tales of Symphonia Chronicles was just announced this past weekend and is planned for release in overseas territories early next year.
