Junichi Masuda is one of the most well-known developers behind the Pokemon series. He started out as a composer and programmer before becoming a director (and still making music at the same time).
Game Informer reached out to Masuda for a chat about music in the Pokemon games. He talked about what the process is like when he creates songs, his favorite tracks, juggling responsibilities between being a director / composer, and more.

Tumblestone dev explains the price, will bring all future games to Nintendo consoles

Tumblestone may seem a bit pricey. The game normally costs $24.99, though you can get it for $22.49 on the Wii U eShop currently. A retail version is also coming soon.
The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild was asked during a Reddit AMA how the price was determined. Regarding this, the studio explained:

On July 10, in-app purchases made in Pokemon GO topped the rest of the mobile gaming market, data from Slice Intelligence reveals. The app also “accounted for nearly 47 percent of the entire mobile gaming market on the same day.”
Slice Intelligence report covers some other areas as well. For example, with microtransactions, 100 PokeCoins is the most purchased coin bundle. Almost 37 percent of in-app purchases have been spent on that item. Additionally over 30 percent of Pokemon GO’s revenue has resulted from the 1,200 PokeCoins option.

Pokemon GO causes some GameStop store sales to spike 100%

This past weekend, there were 462 GameStop stores that were either a PokeStop or Gym. According to CEO Paul Raines, sales were up 100 percent at these locations. Raines added that merchandise sales are up “significantly across the board.”

Planning on attending San Diego Comic-Con later this week? If so, you’ll be able to try out Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice. The recently-released Monster Hunter Generations will also be at the expo.

Pokemon GO’s three-step glitch making it tough for some players to catch Pokemon, possible fix

Pokemon GO is producing a new glitch, and it’s impacting a good chunk of players. Those who are affected see that Pokemon around them are three steps away. This doesn’t change regardless of where you are or how much you walk. The “Nearby” tab still shows that the Pokemon is three pawprints away.
So… what to do? Waiting for an official fix might be the best idea. GearNuke also offers up a temporary bypass (which may or may not work):
– Close Pokemon GO if your nearby Pokemon still show as three steps behind
– Open it up again when you are sure to have moved near them
– Follow the diagram below to determine the location of each Pokemon that shows up as nearby on the world map
– Forcing the app to close and reopen can often refresh the data gained for each Pokemon resulting in the paw prints data updating on the next boot of the app
We’ll let you know if Niantic provides an official update regarding the glitch.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 7 trailer

Telltale Games published a trailer for the next episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, titled “Access Denied”. View it below.
And here’s an overview:
“In Episode 7: ‘Access Denied,’ continuing their portal journey in search of home, Jesse and crew land in a world entirely controlled by PAMA — a sinister “thinking machine” determined to command everyone and everything in pursuit of optimal usefulness and efficiency. Forced on the run to avoid capture and assimilation, you’ll need to work with a new ally to defeat the corrupted computer and free the population it has enslaved.”
Telltale recently brought out a few episodes of Minecraft: Story Mode on Wii U. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we start seeing the latest ones appear on the eShop!
Pokemon GO’s launch in France was delayed due to attack in Nice, may release this week

A whole bunch of European countries received Pokemon GO on Friday. There was one notable region left out, however: France.
In a statement provided to IGN, The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pokemon GO’s launch in France was delayed due to the horrible attack that took place in Nice last week. The full note reads:
“As a sign of respect for the French people in this time of national mourning, the release of Pokémon GO is postponed. Our thoughts and prayers are with France and the victims affected by this terrible attack.”
Pokemon GO does not have a set date in France. However, IGN reports that it may be available later this week after an official period of national mourning ends.

LEGO Dimensions – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them pack detailed

Warner Bros. and TT Games are readying a bunch of expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions. One of these is based on the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In a new Argos catalog, we’re able to see what’s included.
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them pack will feature a Newt Scamander minifigure, Niffler animal, and a fresh LEGO desktop theme for your portal based upon MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). Buyers will also receive access to six new levels, a fresh open-world, and a multiplayer battle arena.
