In light of the coronavirus pandemic last year, Nintendo released Jump Rope Challenge on Switch. The free app was designed to keep people moving during the lockdowns.
According to Nintendo, people all over the world have jumped rope approximately 5.3 billion times as of June 2021. That number is up from 2.5 billion, which was announced last September.
Jump Rope Challenge was originally planned as a limited-time eShop download, as it was announced that the app would be removed after September 30. However, Nintendo later reversed course, and it will remain live “until further notice”.
