The SEGA Genesis Nintendo Switch Online app has just updated with five new games. Players can access Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Sword of Vermilion, and Thunder Force II. Note that an active Expansion Pack subscription is needed – these games are not offered in the base Switch Online membership.

Nintendo typically announces new games in advance for Switch Online, so this news certainly comes as a surprise. Paper Mario was confirmed for the N64 side of things on December 2 before going live on December 10. This is also the first time that the SEGA Genesis Switch Online app has received new titles.

During a “Sonic Official” live stream earlier today, SEGA shared a tiny bit of extra information about Sonic Frontiers – including news regarding the game’s voice cast.

According to social media specialist Justin Thormann, the entire Sonic voice cast is returning for the upcoming Switch title. That means fans can expect to hear Roger Craig Smith as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails (who will also be playing the same role in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie), Cindy Robinson as Amy, and Mike Pollock as Dr. Eggman.

Nintendo and Cygames have detailed a new 2.15.0 update for Dragalia Lost. It will release on December 22 in North America and December 23 in Europe.

The Queen & The Sea DLC for Dead Cells, which was announced at the end of November, has received new details – including a release date.

The big news is that The Queen & The Sea will launch on January 6, 2022. It’s described as “the most ambitious update to Dead Cells yet” with new Biome to explore, new weapons, and a powerful new boss to defeat. The DLC also ties together the narrative introduced in the first two DLCs (Fatal Falls & The Bad Seed).

Here’s some additional information:

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars, the crossover game which was just announced for Switch in Japan yesterday, has now been confirmed for the west as well – and a special physical edition is planned.

The new Switch version includes a brand-new difficulty setting option to raise the stakes of battle, as well as the free alternate costume DLC for all characters.

A major update has just landed for Cris Tales on Switch with a ton of new content and more. It includes the new playable character Adri, an all-new dungeon with exclusive enemies and a brand-new story, the new-and-improved Coliseum, a new ending (including a brand-new cutscene), significantly decreased load times on Nintendo’s console, and more.

Zen Studios announced today that in partnership with Lucasfilm Studios, it’s working on a remastered edition of the classic Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure pinball table for Pinball FX3. Switch will be getting the premium DLC in 2022.

Zen Studios says the DLC “faithfully recreates one of the best Williams machines for the modern age in precise detail.” It comes with the original music, sounds, rules, and look of the machine brought to the digital space for the first time. The DLC also offers “true-to-life Pro Physics simulation, carefully developed by the pinball experts at Zen, using super slow-motion footage to capture flipper, rubber and ball movements to better understand and recreate pinball mechanics.” All of the regular features are here, including single-player, local multiplayer, challenge, and tournament modes. Additionally, an “Enhanced” version offers 3D effects, including side wall art, ball trailer effects, particle effects and a whip-wielding Indiana Jones.
