The eShop is currently listing a new game for both Switch. From Petite Games and Ratalakia Games, 36 Fragments of Midnight is currently on track for next week. The European eShop lists the release for September 14.

Your task is to find them, and take them back, but it won’t be easy. In this procedurally generated platform game, you have to avoid deadly lasers, circular saws and spikes to collect all the Fragments, to get their greatest gift. Do you have what it takes to collect all?
Best Buy has a pre-order bonus for Super Mario Odyssey. As mentioned previously, those who reserve the game will receive a collectible coin. We have a first look at the goodie, and it’s pictured above.
2K Sports was forced to change the cover for NBA 2K18 following the trade of Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics. Above, we have the new packaging shot, as posted on the official Twitter account.
This new cover of NBA 2K18 will be released at “a later date.” We’ll keep you posted on the situation going forward.
YouTube user GameHut has uploaded prototype footage of Mickey Mania 2. It was intended to be a sequel to the SNES game, but it never came to be. Resources shifted due to the opportunity of creating a game based on Toy Story.
You can see the prototype footage below. While it lacks enemies, the platforming gameplay is still there, and it gives you a small look at what could have been.
Last month, a staffer at Virtuos included a note on his LinkedIn page stating that the studio is in the process of porting a AAA title to Switch. Now we know what that mystery game is.
As revealed through Virtuos’ updated LinkedIn page, L.A. Noire is the title originally being referred to. Rockstar Games, which announced the new Switch version a few days ago, will be publishing the release on November 14.

All indications thus far point to NBA 2K18 being very solid on Switch. Aside from some graphical differences, the Switch version matches up well to its counterparts on other platforms.
In an interview with Gamereactor, senior producer Rob Jones discussed the approach to creating NBA 2K18 for Switch in a bit more detail. From day one, Visual Concept’s president spoke about making it “the same exact game that was on PS4 and Xbox One”. It goes without saying that doing so was no easy task.
Jones’ full words:
Over the years, we’ve sometimes seen that the boxarts for the Layton games have seen different designs in North America and Europe. That won’t be the case with Layton’s Mystery Journey, however.

We recently came across an interesting job listing from Japan. A couple of months ago, one unspecified company put up a job listing for an engineer. The developer is looking to bring in three people with experience in programming games using C#.NET, Unity and ASP.net.
Those hired will be working on a major console title by a well-known game developer. Additional details about the company’s identify are not provided.
Nintendo is publishing Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters in the west at the end of this month. Going along with that, Prima has prepared a new guide.
The Yo-kai Watch 2: The Definitive Yo-kai-pedia will have all sorts of information. It will cover over 350 Yo-kai, including their battle actions, abilities, resistances, and more. You can also find out “how to make your Yo-kai even stronger and create the ultimate team with all level requirements and fusion recipes included.” The guide packs in facts about the characters as well. Topping everything off is a full-color poster and a code to access the digital version of the guide.
