During last week’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Linkle will be joining the game’s roster. There’s still more news to come though. On the game’s Japanese Twitter account, it was recently stated that another update will be shared this week – likely through Famitsu.

One thing we absolutely know is arriving in a few days is a new video for Hyrule Warriors Legends. The latest character trailer should focus on Toon Link.

On Friday, Nintendo won a patent case held in California federal court. It’s the second time that the company has prevailed against the patent-licensing companies Technology Properties Limited LLC, Phoenix Digital Solutions LLC and Patriot Scientific Corporation.

Ajay Singh, Nintendo of America’s Director of Litigation and Compliance, said of today’s news:

“We are very pleased with this decision, which again confirmed that Nintendo’s products do not infringe. It also confirms that Nintendo continues to develop unique and innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. Nintendo will defend its products and its innovations, even if it must do so multiple times in different places and over many years.”

Plaintiffs sued Nintendo in California federal court and in the International Trade Commission back in July 2012. But in February 2014, the ITC determined that Nintendo did not infringe the asserted patent. While the plaintiffs chose not to appeal that decision, they insisted on continuing to litigate the same patent and many of the exact same issues before the California federal court. Nintendo has now won that case as well. The court held that Nintendo’s systems, including Wii U and 3DS, do not infringe the asserted patent.
