A few more images and details about Splatoon hit the Japanese Twitter account last week. Continue on below for the latest content pertaining to the game.
This is another device made by the Octupus Army Corps. Shooting the propellers of this fan-like device with ink will cause the platform’s motor to run. Moving the propellers too fast will sometimes cause enemies to dive onto the platform. You must be cautious when using these platforms.
One of our researchers got their hands on what appears to be blue prints for the Octopus Army’s weapons.
This one will automatically follow any intruders and shower them with a rain-like ink to chase them away. The Inkling’s attacks appear to have no affect on this device. That is one scary weapon….
Yesterday, Video Games Plus put out a message on its Twitter account claiming that Nintendo has discontinued the Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager amiibo. The Canadian retailer now published a similar message regarding the GameCube Controller Adapter. Assuming Video Games Plus is correct, the accessory has been discontinued as well.

Digital Foundry’s latest technical analysis is dedicated to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. The site put together a comparison of the two games as well as some frame rate tests – all of which can be found below.
Digital Foundry ultimately concludes, “the fourth entry in the Smash Bros. series is a true technical milestone for both of the Kyoto giant’s leading platforms.” The Wii U version manages to provide a consistent 60 frames per second experience in 1080p, while the 3DS version also takes advantage of its hardware and almost never falters, even when 3D is enabled.

It’s hard to think of a Nintendo console in recent memory that had as much third party support as the DS. Sega, Capcom, Square-Enix, Atlus, XSEED and even Rockstar all supported the console with some of the finest games on the system. True, the popularity of the console also meant that store shelves were usually packed with garbage shovelware, but we’re not here to discuss those. Instead, let’s take a look at ten of the third party games that defined the Nintendo DS throughout its lifespan:
I was thinking that today’s Discussing Everything would be light on news… until The Game Awards happened on Friday! We should have plenty to talk about between the likes of Zelda Wii U and Mario Maker. We may sneak in some other news and Captain Toad as well depending on how things go. And, as always, you’ll have an opportunity to submit random topics/questions.
Discussing Everything will take place at 4 PM ET / 1 PM PT today. Be on the lookout for the chat post shortly before then.
Amazon has posted several photos of the Link, Samus, Donkey Kong, Wario PDP Wired Fight Pads. View them in the gallery above.
Austin and I are back for another Just a Chat! Zelda Wii U is the focus here, as new footage was unexpectedly shown during last night’s Game Awards. There’s also a bit of talk about Wii U’s lineup as a whole in 2015.
