Dengeki: Splatoon’s sell-through rate at 90% for its second week
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 13 Comments
During its first week, Splatoon experienced one of the highest sell-through rates ever in Japan. That number came in at 97.33 percent, which was a sign that the game was almost impossible to find in all stores.
Splatoon has now been on the market for a second week and has yet to show any signs of slowing down. As stated in a Dengeki report, the shooter sold nearly 70,000 copies with a sell-through rate of 90 percent between June 1 and June 7. Media Create’s information will probably vary just slightly, but this is a sign that consumers are still very much interested in Splatoon.

3DS now the 8th Nintendo system to sell 15 million units in the United States
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, News | 2 Comments
Sales of the 3DS have surpassed 15 million units in the United States, Nintendo announced today. In doing so, it’s become the eighth system in the company’s history to reach this feat.
Super Mario 3D Land, Pokemon X, Pokemon y, Mario Kart 7, and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS have all sold more than 2 million copies in the U.S.
Nintendo says that, through the first six months of 2015, 3DS hardware sales have risen by more than 50 percent over sales in the same period in 2014. The system’s growth comes in large part due to the launch of the New 3DS XL, which shipped in mid-February.
Nintendo has sold nearly 270 million units of hardware since the NES debuted in the fall of 1985 – almost 145 million units of handhelds, and another 125 million home console units.
Head past the break to read up on today’s announcement in full.
Armature sharing Unreal Engine 4 Wii U code following Bloodstained’s launch
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 22 Comments
Armature Studio is responsible for bringing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to Wii U. This means that the company will be working with Unreal Engine 4 in its port for Nintendo’s console. It’s a pretty big deal, as Bloodstained may end up as one of the first titles to be running on Unreal Engine 4 on Wii U.
Armature has now announced that, following Bloodstained’s launch, the team will share the Unreal Engine 4 code it’s using on Wii U. Other developers will be able to access this at no extra cost. Maybe it will pave the way for further Unreal Engine 4-made games on Wii U.
Armature wrote in a Bloodstained Kickstarter update:
“Hi Bloodstained backers – Armature here with another update. It turns out that a people have shown a ton of interest in our plan to port UE4 to the WiiU and PS Vita. Since they’re not officially supported platforms, it’s going to be a lot of work to get Bloodstained and UE4 on these platforms, but we are up to the challenge.
Since the community got these platforms off the ground, we figure that it’s best to let the community have them back when we’re done. As a result, after the release of Bloodstained we will share, for free, the UE4 WiiU and Vita code with any developer authorized to develop on those platforms! Thank you all very much for this opportunity!”
