Update: The Valkyria Chronicles 4 demo and pre-load are now live on the eShop.

Original: SEGA has passed along some notable news about Valkyria Chronicles 4. Along with a demo, digital pre-orders will be live later today. SEGA actually says that both are live now, but we’re not seeing anything just yet – that should change when the eShop updates in a couple of hours.

Here’s what to expect from the demo:

Update (8/7): Pre-orders are now open on Amazon.

Original (8/6): The Art of Bravely Default will finally be receiving a release in the west. That’s according to Amazon, which lists a February 2019 release for the book.

The retailer provides the following overview:

Octopath Traveler

Square Enix held its own conference for financial results earnings earlier today. The company had quite a bit to say about the performance of Octopath Traveler.

The new Switch RPG had sales stronger than Square Enix’s pre-sales forecast. Moreover, it exceeded expectations especially in the United States and Europe. The game also saw higher-than-average ratio of download version vs. packaged.

Last week, Square Enix and Nintendo announced that Octopath Traveler reached the milestone of one million copies shipped worldwide so far. They did so by posting the illustration below, which people quickly noticed looked a lot like a piece of artwork of Airy from the Bravely Default series:

Cooler is joining Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco announced at EVO 2018 today. A new trailer showing the character in action and more can be found below.

Bandai Namco has not yet said when Cooler will be available in Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Following the commercial uploaded over the weekend, Atlus has published the first trailer for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. Watch it below.

Nintendo has issued a new version of the Zelda timeline on the series’ official portal. The big addition is that Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been placed at the very end. However, it is not connected to any of the three timelines.

Here’s a look at its placement on the timeline:

Nefarious

Our coverage of Nefarious goes way back to 2014. The game was funded on Kickstarter, and was originally planned for Wii U. There was some consideration about moving to Switch last January. StarBlade also said a few months later that it was solving “technical hurdles” on Wii U.

At this point, you’d have to think that Nefarious won’t come to Wii U. However, the game will still end up on a Nintendo console – that being Switch.

A new Super Smash Bros. Direct will air on August 8, Nintendo has announced. The presentation will deliver the latest information about Smash Bros. Ultimate, as hosted by director Masahiro Sakurai.

It’ll air at the following times:

At BitSummit a few months ago, Inti Creates revealed a pair of notable projects. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon was announced and subsequently released a couple of weeks later while Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is much further off.

Game*Spark caught up Takuya Aizu shortly after the two games were made known. Not many had the chance to ask Aizu about Luminous Avenger iX in particular, so the interview is pretty noteworthy. Aizu discussed the project’s development status and why we’re not seeing Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 yet, among other things. There’s some Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon talk sprinkled in as well.
