Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition

Today, Nintendo added in a listing for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on the European (and Australian) Switch eShop. It contains the same brief information, trailer, and screenshots we’ve already seen, but it’s interesting that the page has only just now appeared, seemingly at a random time. Perhaps we’ll hear more about it soon.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was announced during the last general Nintendo Direct in September 2019. Nintendo hasn’t shared any new information about the remake since then.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was rated in South Korea last month, hinting that a release may not be too far away.

Hello, my deserted villagers! This week on NEP, we’re covering the big Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct. Oni Dino is reminded of Fyre Fest, while Galen can’t wait to share his place and play online with friends. We also introduce Snack World in our Adventure Log, followed by an impromptu talk about why misrepresentation of marginalized groups in video games is harmful. We ebb and flow between the serious and the absurd on NEP! Plus, we talk about an upcoming, killer JRPG that’s kind of going under the radar: Trials of Mana. Come hang out.

If you’re enjoying NEP, please consider giving us a 5 star review on Apple Podcasts, aka new iTunes. It’s incredibly helpful in getting us exposed to new listeners through algorithms, so we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for listening!

Today, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has received an age rating in South Korea. This usually means that the game is in a mostly complete state and as such, its release date isn’t too far away. The last time we heard anything about the game was when it was announced back in September of last year; the game’s official release date is still a rather vague “2020”. Hopefully we’ll hear some news soon.

Hello, my pop stars and mirages! This week on NEP, it’s nonstop controversy. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is going to be censored in all regions, including Japan. What does that mean? What really happened? There’s a lot of misinformation out there, so let us break it down for you. Same thing with Activision-Blizzard recently. Overwatch came out on the Switch this past week—did you notice? We do our best to inform you on what’s going on. And we lighten things up with some heavy, chonky Pokemon announcements. Longcat Meowth is a good boy. Plus, our ideal Pokemon catching tutorial stories. We tidy things up with a chat about Xenoblade Definitive Edition thanks to our lovely listener mail.

Hello, my geese and goslings! This week on NEP we’ve got some controversial and complex talking points: Hero being banned then unbanned in official Nintendo France tournaments (and what constitutes an OP character or a ban), Mario Kart Tour and the success and failure of mobile games and how that affects genuine gaming, and the Switch Lite launching on the market. We then get some great listener mail sent to us and we blather on there, too, because complex issues require complex analysis.
