Update (8/24): Bumped to the top. Mighty Switch Force! Academy has been announced, and it’s hitting Steam Early Access tomorrow. What does this mean for Nintendo players? Well, WayForward is open to bringing the game to additional platforms – hopefully Wii U and/or 3DS.

Original (8/20): A tweet sent out on WayForward’s Twitter account has started up the rumor mill once again. The message, posted below, suggests that a new Mighty Switch Force! game is on the way.

We’ve seen two Mighty Switch Force! games on Nintendo platforms thus far. It’d certainly be interesting to see what WayForward would have in store for another game.

Nintendo has readied new Splatoon commercials for North America. The ad covers the new content that’s being added to the game, as well as what’s to come. Take a look at it below.

Update: Bumped to the top. It’s now confirmed that VS. Excitebike’s release will be the Famicom version. The game includes the track editor, additional tracks/music and two-player multiplayer.

Nintendo is teasing the arrival of VS. Excitebike in North America – though we’re still not entirely sure what it is.

VS. Excitebike came out for arcades and the Famicom many, many years ago. Both releases were enhanced versions of the original Excitebike. However, it remains to be seen if the new release of Vs. Excitebike is based on what launched over three decades ago, or if it’s something new entirely.

Nintendo wrote the following on Twitter a short while ago:

SteamWorld Heist will come with a few different difficulty levels. Based on comments from Brjann Sigurgeirsson, it sounds like there will be five in total, ranging from “Easy” to “Impossible”.

When cranking up the difficulty, players will encounter more enemies. There are also plans to implement more intelligent enemies. Sigurgeirsson believes that just “a few people on the planet” will be able to finish SteamWorld Heist on its hardest difficulty.

He told Nintendo World Report:

“… in SteamWorld Heist, we have difficulty levels so you can play Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite and Impossible… that’s the name of the difficulty levels today. So that’s the thing – you have to play it well, or you won’t complete it. I think that’s good, you’re supposed to put your soul and body into playing a game. It’s going to be as tough as you want it to be, but the game’s not going to give you anything. You’ll have to take it.

I might be missing a few things here, but there are various aspects that make it more difficult. We can introduce more enemies, but also the terrible notion of having better enemies. Like suddenly their aim is right on target. Like you say, less loot, you have weaker guns… there’ll only be a few people on the planet who can complete the game on the hardest difficulty.”

Bandai Namco and UIG Entertainment are bringing a pair of simulation titles to Europe. Professional Farmer 2016 and Professional Lumberjack 2016 are on the way to Nintendo’s console.

Below is an overview of each game:

Professional Farmer 2016 will take players to the countryside in one of the most realistic and authentic farming simulations ever made. Choose your favourite tractor from many different official constructors, care for it in your own garage and then take it out on the field ready for a day’s work. The game features a huge world to farm across, differing distinctive seasons, a career mode and even dynamic field management depending on the type of grain. Live the farming dream across many hours of gameplay.

In Professional Lumberjack 2016 players manage their mighty crew of cutters, create a prosperous sawmill and expand their woodland business in a realistic world ruled by the different seasons. A great lumberjack knows their Bigtooth Aspen from a Slippery Elm. To get the job done, players must understand each tree and identify the right tool in order to gain the greatest return on their hard work in the most efficient way possible.
