Balan Wonderworld

Ahead of its release in March, Balan Wonderworld has received a new demo on the Switch eShop. It’ll be available everywhere on January 28, though some regions already have access.

Jack Jeanne

Earlier today, Broccoli issued a new demo for its opera-themed otome game Jack Jeanne. It’s live right now on the Japanese Switch eShop.

Crunching Koalas and Studio Gauntlet have shared a launch trailer for Bonkies, the couch co-op construction builder. View it below.

Gal Gun Returns

A new batch of footage has arrived for Gal Gun Returns ahead of its upcoming release on Switch. Take a look at the gameplay below.

Gal Gun Returns will initial release in Japan and Asia on January 28. North America and Europe are getting the game on February 12.

Super Mario Bros. 35

Super Mario Bros. 35 recently held a World Count Challenge in which players were tasked with collectively defeating 3.5 million Bowsers between January 18 and January 25. There’s good news to share, as that total has been surpassed.

Nintendo says that players defeated 5,363,696 times. Since the goal was met, individual players who took down at least one Bowser are eligible to receive 350 My Nintendo Platinum Points. Nintendo hasn’t said when exactly these points will be available, but they should be applied to accounts in the near future.

Immortals Fenyx Rising: A New God

The first piece of Immortals Fenyx Rise DLC is almost here. A New God will launch tomorrow, January 28, Ubisoft has announced.

Here’s a brief overview of the DLC:

Capcom has shared the second developer video for Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, which we have below. Producer Peter Fabiano talks about the picture-book visual themes that director Tokuro Fujiwara wanted to include in this newest entry, as well as new skills Arthur can access in the Demon Realm.

Turrican

Factor 5 was responsible for some notable Star Wars games on the N64 and GameCube many years ago. The studio is also well-known for the Turrican series, which is now returning on Switch.

Factor 5 studio founder Julian Eggebrecht spoke about the past, present, and future of Turrican in an interview with Eurogamer. One interesting subject discussed was Tornado, a spiritual successor planned as a 3D title and was initially pitched as a Nintendo-published project. Sadly, it was put on hold and never touched again so that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron could be ready for the GameCube’s launch.

Eggebrecht said:

Nacon and Abrakam Entertainment have announced that Roguebook, a roguelike deck-builder, will be released on Switch. The console versions will follow sometime after the initial PC debut in June.
