Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was updated tonight to support Nintendo Labo. That won’t be the only game to be given such treatment.

In an announcement covering today’s patch and new contest, Nintendo states: “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the first game outside of Nintendo Labo software to receive Toy-Con support, and more titles will be compatible with Nintendo Labo in the future.” The company did not elaborate beyond this.

Nintendo has announced the categories for the second Nintendo Labo Creators Contest. These are “Best Gaming Experience using Toy-Con Garage” and “Best Toy-Con Musical Instrument.”

Different prizes are up for grabs, including a specially designed, collectible cardboard-inspired Switch system. Fans in the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 13 years old or older can enter here.

Wolfenstein II launches on Switch this week. But what about Wolfenstein: The New Order, the last game main in the series? Or how about The New Order’s standalone prequel Wolfenstein: The Old Blood?

Unfortunately, at least for the time being, there aren’t any plans for either of these titles on Switch. Adam Creighton, studio head at developer Panic Button, told GameSpot in a new interview:

Over a year after its release, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been updated. Nintendo has added some special functionality to the game. Once you’ve installed the latest patch, it’ll be compatible with Nintendo Labo.

The compatibility specifically extends to the Toy-Con Motorbike. This is included with the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit.

Back in 2014, a Bayonetta 2 art book, The Eyes of Bayonetta 2, was released in Japan. Now four years later, the book is finally seeing a localized release.

Like other retailers, Best Buy will be restocking the NES Classic Edition this Friday. The retailer shared its plans today about how it will be approaching the event.

Best Buy indicates that it won’t be taking pre-orders. The NES Classic Edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis when stores open Friday. Customers will be limited to purchasing one unit. If a line forms at a store before the doors open, Best Buy will use the same ticketing process from Black Friday.

It sounds like Best Buy will also have some inventory online. When the NES Classic Edition goes up, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion was very well received for its challenging nature, but as players start to complete its 80 stages, they might be left wondering what’s next for the single player story. Well, producer Hisashi Nogami made it clear that the team has no plans for any additional single player, premium releases.

In the same interview, it was recently confirmed that the team has not ruled out premium multiplayer content, which has not been seen in the Splatoon series to date. Both installments have seen a steady wave of free, post-launch weapons and maps for a year after launch, which have always been welcome additions. No confirmations of any additional premium content have been made yet.
