Towards the end of last week’s Xenoblade Chronicles X Battle Presentation, a new female alien was shown. Here’s what director Koh Kojima shared on Twitter about her today:

“You must be wondering who that squid-headed female alien at the end of the battle video was, huh? You can tell she’s an evil creature. She’s very popular with the development staff. We think she turned into a really cool character. The design was made by Yoko Tsukamoto by the way.”

We’ve talked about Tsukamoto on here previously. In Japan, Tsukamoto is a well-known fantasy illustrator.

Level-5 appears to be preparing two new Yo-Kai games. In the back pages of CoroCoro Comic’s latest issue, it’s revealed that Yo-Kai Watch 3 as well as Yo-Kai Watch Busters are in development.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 should come as no surprise given the franchise’s success. Yo-Kai Watch Busters is a bit more interesting. This was a game mode in Yo-Kai Watch 2, but is now getting a full-fledged release. Thus far, we know that Yo-Kai Watch Busters will allow up to four players to team up and take on boss yo-kai together.

We’ll be hearing about Yo-Kai Watch 3 and Yo-Kai Watch Busters in the next issue of CoroCoro Comics.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Developed by Intelligent Systems, the creators of the beloved Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series, the single- and multiplayer turn-based strategy game Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. launches for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on March 13. The game places players on the front lines of a series of intricately designed battlefields and requires them to use both brains and brawn to emerge from battle victorious. Players are thrust into the boots of some of the most original and unexpected playable characters ever assembled in a Nintendo video game. These agents of S.T.E.A.M. (Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace) are composed of literature- and folklore-inspired icons like John Henry, Tiger Lily, Tom Sawyer, Lion from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and many more – all led by Abraham Lincoln. Players who dive into the action on New Nintendo 3DS XL can even take advantage of the new system’s enhanced controls and creative amiibo functionality.

“Fresh on the heels of the launch of New Nintendo 3DS XL, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. comes whistling in to give portable players a patriotic punch of action-strategy,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “For players who may be wrapping up The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, or just looking for their next hand-held gaming experience, this refreshingly unique game is just what Honest Abe ordered.”

Natsume used to help bring over the Medabots games, but we haven’t seen any titles localized since the Game Boy Advance games. In an interview with Siliconera, Natsume president Hiro Maekawa said that the company doesn’t have “a concrete plan for future Medabots titles”, though he did say that there will be some sort of news about the series this year.

He said:

“At this point, we do not have a concrete plan for future Medabots titles, but we are carefully listening to fans voices and we know the team over there and would love the opportunity to bring a new Medabots game to the U.S. one day. Once again we have spent time, money, and love on that franchise, and we want to see it move forward just as much as our fans do. I know this isn’t the answer Medabots fans wanted, but stay tuned, because there will be some Medabots news in 2015. Keep an eye out!”

Maekawa also commented on Natsume’s relationship with Kemco. The two sides worked together on Alphadia Genesis, which landed on Wii U last year.

“We maintain a very close relationship with Kemco. We work very well with them and they make RPGs that fit so well into our “niche and unique” model. I have always been fond of RPGs and we continue to look for ones that fit with Natsume. Are we working together on a co-developed RPG? We have definitely talked about it! You will be one of the first to know if we have some news to announce.”
