The opening timing for Super Nintendo World will be announced around the fall, Universal Studios has confirmed.
Plans to open the theme park alongside the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo were officially delayed late last month. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, it was simply impossible to make Super Nintendo World available to the public. This year’s Olympics were previously delayed to 2021.
Super Nintendo World will initially debut in Japan. However, it will open at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore later on.

The kind folks at Oddworld Inhabitants and Microids have partnered with Nintendo Everything on a very exciting giveaway. Oddworld has found a new home on Switch this year, and to celebrate, we’re giving away a special system based on Stranger’s Wrath. Not only that, but series creator Lorne Lanning has signed the console!
With Fairy Tail just a couple of weeks away until launch, we’ve learned more about how the Switch version is shaping up. Developer Gust informed Nintendo Everything that the game runs at 30 frames per second. You’ll get a 1080p resolution when docked and 720p portable mode. Gust didn’t indicate that there will be any fluctuations, but we’ll undoubtedly have the final verdict upon release.
Outside of discussing performance, we were told that the team “optimized interactions for the background and effects for the Switch version”. However, since the game was always planned as a multiplatform title, Gust “worked hard to ensure that the quality was uniform across all platforms.”
We’ll have more from our interview with Gust regarding Fairy Tail soon.
In this week’s issue of Famitsu, Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai spoke in-depth about adding Min Min to the game as part of his latest column. He also briefly commented on how he has been continuously working on the series since Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, and after the next round of DLC fighters are finished, things will finally be over.
Here’s our full translation of the column:

Wales Interactive and FMV Future announced Gamer Girl this week. But after it received a significant amount of backlash on social media, the announcement was pulled, and Wales Interactive has now shared a statement.
Those who have criticized Gamer Girl feel that it perpetuates some of the issues that female streamers are forced to tackle like sexual harassment. The multi-branching FMV title has players taking on the role of a moderator for a streamer, “who’s back online after the mysterious disappearance of her friend Becky.” Wales Interactive’s announcement mentioned that you “control the stream, level up mod powers, guide Abi’s choices and uncover the threat she faces by an anonymous predator who hides in the stream’s chat.”
Following the backlash, Wales Interactive said in a statement:
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated has been updated. With version 1.0.2, the team has addressed “some minor issues” and implemented Yoji Ueda as the Japanese voice of Squidward.
Developer Purple Lamp “is already in the works and will fix major bugs reported by the community,” according to publisher THQ Nordic.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is available for Switch.
Killer Queen Black received a major Betelgeuse Update this week. Liquid Bit and BumbleBear Games introduced enhanced party features, gameplay improvements, and more.
