Zammis Clark, a 24-year-old security researcher, has pleaded guilty to hacking into Nintendo’s network.
Clark actually wreaked havoc first at Microsoft before causing issues with Nintendo last March. By using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), he was able to gain access to Nintendo’s network. Clark used similar software to hack into Nintendo’s confidential game development servers that house development code for unreleased games. In the end, 2,365 usernames and passwords were stolen. Nintendo became aware of the breach in May 2018.

Alex Preston has confirmed that an animated series is in the works based on his original game Hyper Light Drifter. Adi Shankar, known for producing the Castlevania show on Netflix, is involved.
Preston and Shankar are currently seeking writers and are thinking about how to translate Hyper Light Drifter’s gameplay to a non-interactive medium. The two are “leaning a lot more towards something that’s representative of the game on the style side,” according to Preston, but will probably end up looking more like an anime as opposed to sticking with pixel graphics.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is noteworthy due to the tech behind it. Rather than using something like an internal Nintendo engine, the game was built with Unreal Engine 4.
Good Feel executive VP Etsunobu Ebisu spoke with IGN about the decision to create Yoshi’s Crafted World in that environment. Ebisu explained that “Unreal Engine made it easy to make adjustments to the visuals, and allowed us to produce textures we were satisfied with.”
