Back in September, it was revealed that Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden and One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum would be receiving special updates to allow for cross-play. We can now say this is now available for the two games.
After applying the update, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden and One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum players can battle against each other. Online and local play are both supported.
One important note: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden players can only choose characters from the Dragon Ball series, and vice versa for One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum.

How does the emulation of Super Mario Bros. 3 in the NES Classic Edition stack up to the original game on the NES itself? GameXplain explores that question in the video below.
The NES Classic Edition doesn’t allow for native support with original NES controllers. However, Hyperkin is looking to solve that with a new accessory. Later this month, players will be able to use the NES controllers as well as joysticks with a 6-inch adapter. You’ll also be able to connect it to a Wii U or Wii.
The adapter doesn’t seem to have an exact release date yet. We do know though that it will be priced at $10.
Update (11/8): Nintendo has now removed Super Mario Maker for 3DS’ inclusion as an upcoming compatible amiibo game. Make of that what you will!
Original (11/7): Super Mario Maker for 3DS may feature amiibo support, if Nintendo’s website is anything to go by. It’s listed as an upcoming compatible game on the main amiibo website.
Nintendo previously said that Super Mario Maker for 3DS would not include the Mystery Mushrooms. In the Wii U version, these allowed players to unlock new costumes with amiibo, though they were also available through other means. The Wii U game also made use of the 30th Anniversary Mario amiibo to add a Big Mushroom power-up to courses.
It’s unclear if Nintendo’s website is simply an error. If it’s legitimate, hopefully we’ll hear about how amiibo functions in Super Mario Maker for 3DS soon.
