Update (10/7): Bumped to the top. The dream of more characters might be dead. Nintendo has updated the website, and it now says three characters instead of five.
Original (10/6): Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash’s full site has gone live. Access it here.
On the page, Nintendo mentions that the game “features five new characters alongside returning fan favorites.” Based on what we’ve previously seen, we know of three entirely new roster additions. That should mean there are two others we don’t know about currently.
Finally, we’ve rounded up the various clips from Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash’s site. Find five minutes of footage below (warning: shows some of the secret characters, though I suppose they really aren’t at this point).
Earlier today, Nintendo World in New York held a launch event for Yo-kai Watch. Photos of the event have since been made available, which you can find below. Photo descriptions are also included.
The latest look at Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is an online match featuring amiibo. Check it out below.
Last week, Nintendo kicked off Splatoon’s seventh Splatfest in North America and Japan. The same event has now gone live in Europe, but with a different topic.
The two sides battling it out this time around are zombies and ghosts. Players will have until 19:00 CET / 18:00 GMT tomorrow to participate. Once the event finishes, we’ll have the results shortly after.
The Play Nintendo YouTube page has kicked off a new Yoshi’s Woolly World “Adventure Guide”. The third episode, published today, can be seen below.
Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) is still getting new series in Japan. On March 17, the fourth round of cards will be available.
Nintendo revealed some of the characters that will be included in the upcoming series during a live stream earlier today. Along with Mystery of the Emblem and Awakening, we now know that Genei Ibun Roku #FE will be represented as well.
– Hardin & Malliesia (Mystery of the Emblem)
– Cynthia & Donnell (Awakening)
– Chrom & Itsuki (Genei Ibun Roku #FE)
– Caeda & Tsubasa (Genei Ibun Roku #FE)
– Cain & Toma (Genei Ibun Roku #FE)
– Virion & Eleanora (Genei Ibun Roku #FE)
There are also plans to bring out a fifth series of Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) cards. Micaiah from Radiant Dawn is confirmed, along with Roy from The Binding Blade.
Hit up the gallery below for a look at Fire Emblem 0’s upcoming cards. Images include cards from series 3 (out next month in Japan), 4, and a tiny bit from 5.
Poncho saw its initial launch on platforms like Steam a few days ago. While we’re still waiting on the Wii U eShop release, we can at least see what the final product looks like in the video below.
Beenox worked on Spider-Man games for several years. The studio created Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, and both games for The Amazing Spider-Man in the span of five years. Despite Beenox’s involvement with Spider-Man since 2010, the company has now moved on.
Develop reports in its latest issue that Beenox is “no longer working on the Spider-Man IP”. That makes sense, as their output has been limited to Skylanders over the past few years. This year specifically, Beenox was in charge of Skylanders SuperChargers Racing for 3DS and Wii.
Beenox creative director Thomas Wilson told Develop about the studio’s transition:
