It’s been awhile since Super Smash Bros. for Wii U hit store shelves, but folks are still finding some interesting tidbits about the game. Random Talking Bush has come across two trophy changes in the Japanese release.

First, Lyn’s trophy was modified a bit. In the gallery below you’ll see that her skirt spacing was lessened, and the legs were darkened near the hips compared to the US version. Wonder Pink also had a trophy change, but it was much more drastic. She actually has an entirely different pose.

A few days ago, news began to circulate about Pokemon fans in Hong Kong setting up petitions and putting on protests related to the series. One of the stronger points players were upset about concerned a name change relating to Pikachu. You can read up on what’s been going on here.

Nintendo’s Hong Kong division, in conjunction with The Pokemon Company, issued a statement within the past week regarding the situation. This was distributed by Lonely Media, one of the organizers of the protest.

Nintendo cited that the new name for Pikachu in Cantonese can, and should be pronounce as Pikachu, not “Pei-kaa-jau”. Additionally, Nintendo never intended to restrict the name’s pronunciation. Instead, they just want a uniform translation for the Chinese sphere, so that it can be communicated across language barriers.

Reader VZ Blade went to the trouble of translating Nintendo’s statement in full. We’ve posted it below.

To ‘Petition to Keep Regional Chinese Translations of Pokémon’:

Thank you very much for your support.

After the announcement of Pokémon Sun/Moon being release globally this winter, the news of the Pokémon Sun/Moon’s inclusion of the Chinese language caused many reactions. At the same time, we received many opinions, which included the worry and the unfamiliarity to the new game title ??????* (Pokémon)?and the new names for the Pokémon that appeared in past games.

Following the announcement of Pokémon Sun/Moon info in May 10th, the new names of the 151 Pokémon appeared in Pokémon Red/Green was also announced. However, the suggestions in the petition was not reflected in the info announcement. At the same time, we did not give detailed explanations, causing severe negative reactions. We sincerely apologize for causing this inconvenience.

First, the last round of concept art:

And now the translations for the various pages:

Update 2: Here’s a statement from 13AM Games about the Amazon listings – we’ll have to see what comes from this:

We’re happy that people are excited about the possibility of a 3DS and retail version of Runbow, but we have to make it clear that this leak is not from 13AM Games and unfortunately contains some misinformation. I wish I could elaborate, but all I can say at this point is that we hope everyone can tune in to E3 this year where 13AM Games will be making some cool new Runbow announcements!
Thanks for the passion and the excitement – Runbow fans are the best.

Update: For Amazon Prime members, Runbow Wii U is $14 off. Obviously an error, so you may want to get an order in now before it’s fixed. Same goes for Tumblestone, but it’s unclear if it’s the Wii U or Xbox One version.

Earlier today, we heard that Runbow is in the works for 3DS via an Amazon listing. Nighthawk Interactive will be publishing this version at retail on September 6. On the same day, Runbow will be getting a physical release for Wii U, according to another Amazon listing.

That may not be all. Yet another listing has popped up from Nighthawk Interactive on Amazon – this time for Tumblestone on Wii U. Here’s the thing: Amazon’s product page is for the Xbox One version, but there’s a Wii U boxart. There’s obviously some sort of mistake there. We’ll let you know if we receive a clarification about the situation.

XSEED is starting to get involved with publishing indie titles. Today, the company announced that it will be handling Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (physical and digital) as well as Exile’s End (digital) for Wii U in North America. Both will be playable at E3 later this month.

Here’s the overview of Shantae, which includes the Risky Beats retail release:

In the magical world of Sequin Land lives Shantae, a spirited young half-genie. She has dedicated her life to defending her home of Scuttle Town from evil in all forms, and has been called upon again as pirates attack! Using her trademark Hair-Whip Attack and special ability to transform herself into various kinds of creatures by way of magical belly-dancing, she must fight her way through steamy jungles, ancient ruins, and stormy deserts to topple the villainous Barons behind each criminal caper, preparing for the ultimate showdown against her arch-nemesis: the bodacious buccaneer Risky Boots!

The Wii U-exclusive indie hit Runbow is soon heading to a new Nintendo platform. Amazon has a listing up for Runbow on 3DS, which will be published by Nighthawk Interactive on September 6. It’ll be priced at $29.99.

Here’s a description from Amazon’s listing:

The Runbow Deluxe Edition includes the critically acclaimed Wii U party game with all the DLC. New DLC includes new levels, costumes/ characters, game modes and more! Runbow is a fast, frantic game for 1-9 players that will keep you running back for more. The world changes with each swipe of the background, so you’ll have to stay on your toes as platforms and obstacles disappear. If you can’t see something, it doesn’t exist. Play with up to 9 friends locally or online. With hundreds of levels, dozens of costumes, and more indie guest characters than you can handle, you better get ready to Runbow!

13AM Games has talked about potential interest in having Runbow on 3DS, but this is the first confirmation we have that it’s actually happening. The fact that a retail release is in the works makes it all the more interesting!

Update: Bumped to the top. We have a few more details about the Pokemon plans for E3.

On Tuesday, Pokemon Sun/Moon will be introduced (June 14). Pokemon GO will be featured on Wednesday (June 15). Guests such as developers will stop by, and there will also be new information and trivia about development that can only be heard here. With Pokemon GO, it will be a developer Q&A.

Also, as a bit of an aside, a local Niconico stream in Japan will be held on Thursday. This will summarize the contents of Pokemon’s presence at E3.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 2016 will heavily feature Zelda Wii U later this month. However, as it turns out, that won’t be the only game on the broadcast.

The official Japanese Twitter account for Pokemon confirms that Pokemon Sun/Moon and Pokemon GO will be included in the Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 2016 live stream. We don’t know what exactly will be shown, but this is rather interesting news!
