Today’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct will be starting in an hour, and we’ve got a live stream ready for the proceedings. It will kick off at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.
During the broadcast, Nintendo will be detailing upcoming content planned for the Switch title. This was first teased during the most recent general Nintendo Direct in September. We’ve thus far gotten a tease of The Roost, but not much else is known beyond that.

Metroid Dread devs from MercurySteam speak out after not being included in credits

Some of the staff at MercurySteam are speaking out about the company’s handling of credits, and specifically how it relates to Metroid Dread.
According to Spanish site Vandal (via Neat), the studio has confirmed a policy in which developers who worked for less than 25% of the game’s total development time are not included in the credits. The company is said to make exceptions for “exceptional contributions”, though the specifics surrounding this are unclear. MecurySteam employees say that Metroid Dread was in the works for four years, meaning staff would need to have been involved for at least twelve months to be credited.

Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 0 comments
There’s a bit of a surprise for Switch owners for today, as Murder House has just received a surprise release on the console. It’s live in Europe and Australia, and it should be up in North America within the next few hours.
Murder House is a PS1 style survival horror game that acts as a spiritual successor to Babysitter Bloodbath. The game begins with a news crew breaking into an abandoned home of Anthony Smith, an executed serial cleaner. While the team intends to shoot a haunted house story, the notorious Easter Ripper may not actually be dead.

Microids today announced that it’s working on a remake of Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, a Data East classic from 1991. The updated version, made by Mr. Nutz Studio, will launch in 2022.
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is an arcade platformer that can be played alone or cooperatively. The game “will invite players to go back to the Prehistoric Age and embody Prehistoric Men, ready to do anything to save the women of their tribe.” Microids says that the upcoming version will include new additions like an original adventure mode containing brand new levels.
5 Nintendo franchises still missing on Switch

In a new video today, we’re going over 5 Nintendo franchises still missing on Switch.
Nintendo’s catalog is probably one of the most valuable ones in the entire gaming industry given the company’s variety of franchises from different genres. In fact, the Big N has so much on its hands that it is hard for the company to maintain all of their IPs active. Fans are always asking for new games and it’s almost impossible to please everyone.
Right now on Switch, there’s a great effort from Nintendo to offer representation for many franchises. With over four years on the market, the console has an already very impressive library with some of the biggest names of the company. However, some names are still missing, and that’s what I want to talk about in this new video. Give it a look below – and stay tuned for the bonus at the end.
Switch OLED launch was significantly bigger than Switch Lite in the UK

Nintendo itself hasn’t provided any data, but based on information from GfK Entertainment, Switch OLED is off to a strong start in the UK.
We’re hearing that last week was the 14th biggest week for Switch console sales ever. The only weeks with higher sales largely came during peak Christmas and Black Friday sales periods (Black Friday 2019, 2018, and 2020 rank at the top). Also, for the initial launch for Switch, it had the fourth biggest week overall.
