Nintendo discusses current scale of active users on Switch, “many” new titles planned for fiscal year

During a financial call last week, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa weighted in on the current scale of active users on Switch.
Perhaps as expected, the system saw “a substantial increase” after the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, though that taped off slightly afterward. Things picked up again during the holidays. After decreasing again a bit after the new year, it sounds like there was another boost after the release of Monster Hunter Rise.
In relaying this information, Furukawa added that he believes Switch still has strong momentum and there are “many” new titles planned for the fiscal year.

Layers of Fear 2 coming to Switch next week

Layers of Fear: Legacy came to Switch a little over three years ago. Its sequel will now be launching on the platform next week, according to an eShop listing.

Nintendo just started distribution of the latest Switch update. All owners can download version 12.0.2.
Like some of the more recent updates, there isn’t much here. Nintendo has again mentioned improvements for system stability.

EA Play Live 2021 announced for July 22

A new EA Play Live event will air on July 22, EA has announced. Last year’s presentation was held in June, and today’s news confirms that the upcoming broadcast will take place after E3.
In 2020, EA did actually have a decent amount of Switch news. Apex Legends was announced for the platform, we heard about Lost in Random for the first time, and more.
We’ll let you know about any significant Nintendo-related news that emerges from EA Play Live 2021.
Disney bringing Lucasfilm Classic Games: Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol to Switch

A pair of LucasArts titles from the SNES era will soon be making a return. Lucasfilm Classic Games: Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol is coming to Switch, an eShop listing reveals. Disney Interactive is publishing, though Dotemu is also involved.
This is the first time these two games will be appearing on a new platform since the Wii Virtual Console. There will also be new features, including the ability to save anywhere, various museum content, both soundtracks, local co-op, and achievements.

Ninjala is quickly coming up on its first anniversary. It’s been a busy year for the Switch title between various updates, collaborations, and more.
Nintendo Everything was recently given an opportunity to catch up with Kazuki Morishita, the president and CEO of GungHo Online Entertainment as well as the game’s executive producer. Morishita spoke about collaborations (including the ones for Monster Hunter Rise and Sonic the Hedgehog), future plans, and more.
