Yacht Club Games will be kicking off its new video presentation soon. The broadcast begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM in the UK / 8 PM in Europe.

You can watch the presentation as it happens below. We’ll report back with any notable announcements.

The Spyro & Friends Grand Prix will begin in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled on August 30, publisher Activision and developer Beenox have announced. It will add the purple dragon as a playable character, a new track, and more.

Below are the full details:

After shutting down nearly a year ago, Telltale Games is returning. LCG Entertainment announced today that it “has purchased the defunct studio’s key assets, trademarks, technology, and select intellectual properties with the intent of re-releasing select games from the studio’s back catalog and developing new games in some of the company’s best-selling brands.” LCG will represent itself as the original Telltale Games name.

Today’s press release mentions that “key talent” from the original Telltale has been “hired or contracted”. A focus on both core IPs and new IPs is planned going forward. Fans can expect information regarding the re-release of back catalog titles and new games in existing franchises “in the coming weeks.”

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Frozenbyte, the developer of Trine, is coming out with a brand new game on Switch today. The company has announced and released Boreal Blade, a team-based melee fighting title.

Here’s a bunch of information for Boreal Blade as well as a trailer:

Update: This is now confirmed and will be releasing on Switch. See the image below (thanks GameXplain).

Original: During the SNES/SEGA Genesis era, games were made based on Aladdin and The Lion King. Many years later, it’s rumored that the two will be returning on new platforms.

HD remasters for Aladdin and Lion King were allegedly announced at the GameStop Managers Conference today. Twitter user wolverinefactor says they’ll be arriving on “all systems” (which would presumably include Switch) in October. The original soundtracks and SNES/Genesis versions will be included.

We won’t have to wait long to find out if there’s truth to today’s report. Apparently, GameStop will be opening pre-orders tomorrow.

A listing on the PlayStation Store in Hong Kong has outed Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. While PlayStation 4 is the only confirmed platform at present, we’re expecting a Switch release as well. Both Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection are available for Nintendo’s console.

Here’s an overview of Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection:

Another new firmware update for 3DS update is now available. Nintendo has just started distribution of version 11.11.0-43.

Nintendo hasn’t published the patch notes yet, but we’re not expecting any major additions or changes. In fact, things have stayed the same since 2015. Previous updates since then have involved “improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments”.

Update: This listing has now been taken down by Amazon. Make of that what you will.

Original: Overwatch isn’t on Switch – at least not right now. But with a new product listing on Amazon, fans are starting to hope that a release is on the horizon.

A new Overwatch Switch case popped up on Amazon today. The accessory, which is made by PowerA, has been licensed officially by Nintendo and Blizzard.

As for what it offers, here’s the full rundown:

Hello, my Chocobos and Cactuars! This week on NEP, we’ve got the simultaneous worst and best episode yet! We’ve got Jared of Avalanche Reviews guesting in, but Galen’s mic crapped out once or twice, so his commentary is a little light in a few spots.

But Jared is here to get super nerdy with us about upscaling output video on retro consoles, as all three of us bond over Resident Evil and the best boys of YouTube. In particular, Jared talks about getting the best picture possible out of the SNES, N64 and GCN consoles; the Framemeister; and technical nonsense of video and retro graphics explained in easy-to-understand detail.

If you’re enjoying NEP, please consider giving us a 5 star review on Apple Podcasts, aka new iTunes. It’s incredibly helpful in getting us exposed to new listeners through algorithms, so we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for listening!
