If Amazon’s listing is accurate, A Hat in Time will launch for Switch on October 18. At the very least, that’s when the physical version is expected to drop.

A new filing has appeared in the FCC database for a wireless SNES controller, which has fans speculating about what Nintendo has planned for the future.

Unfortunately, the application is lacking in important details. However, we do know that the device ID is BKE HAC-042. This is notable since it indicates compatibility with Switch. All other wireless game devices for Switch have come with the “HAC” prefix as part of their FCC IDs.

Assuming the filing represents an actual product Nintendo has planned, perhaps we’ll be seeing SNES games on Switch in some fashion.

Rivals of Aether

The indie fighting game Rivals of Aether was first brought up for Switch back in January 2018. At the time, creator Dan Fornace said the team was looking into a release on Nintendo’s console, but stopped short of confirming plans officially.

Fornace provided an update at Super Smash Con this past weekend. The developer appeared in a video message to provide a status update for the game overall, and confirmed that a Switch release is indeed happening.

Hello, my beautiful poison and fairy types. This week on NEP, we have a special guest—three in fact! Jay, James and Julian from Massive Monster join us to talk about their upcoming challenging action-platformer for Nintendo Switch, “Never Give Up”. The devs reveal a lot about their upcoming game including a few secrets, how Egoraptor / Arin Hanson is involved, and their origins as developers that led up to this point.

The trio then sticks around to chat with us about new Pokemon details and lootboxes in gaming, with Nintendo making a statement recently about introducing new rules for transparency. We all get on and have a great chat, and we’re particularly grateful for Massive Monster’s insight on these topics as developers.

If you like what you’re hearing, you can support us by giving NEP a 5 star review on Apple Podcasts, aka new iTunes. We would greatly appreciate if you could help us out! We’re very grateful for your support, and we thank you for listening!
