Undertale Switch officially announced for September 15 in Japan, collector’s edition revealed

A few weeks ago, the new Switch version of Undertale was listed for September 15 on Amazon Japan. That date was made official today.
Undertale will be sold for 4,000 yen physically, and includes a story booklet. The digital eShop version is priced at 1,500 yen.
A collector’s edition will be offered for 8,800 yen as well. It’ll come with a copy of the game, 2-disc collector’s edition soundtrack, sheet music booklet featuring six songs with annotations by creator Toby Fox, 14k gold-plated brass music box locket, one of six random bookmarks, and and one of three microfiber cloths. When Nintendo shares its financial results, we always tend to get a look at updated listings of million sellers across various platforms. The company provided that information once again for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018.
Among the highlights, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Switch and Mario Tennis Aces have already made the list. The two have sold 1.40 million and 1.38 million respectively.

3DS update out now (version 11.8.0-41)

Nintendo has released the next firmware update for 3DS. The new version is 11.8.0-41, with the company providing the following statement about it: “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience”.
Nintendo last issued a firmware update for 3DS on June 18. These patches have dropped from time to time, but tend to carry the same general statement about improving system stability. That has actually been the case since 2015. The last major 3DS update was in March 2015, which added a Home Menu Layout setting, additional categories for the Theme Shop, and amiibo settings for 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS systems.

HAL Laboratory president reflects on his friendship with Satoru Iwata

Satoshi Mitsuhara might know late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata better than anyone. Mitsuhara first joined HAL in 1990, and worked with Iwata for several years. The two would end up being close friends.
Forbes recently spoke with Mitsuhara, who is now the president of HAL. Mitsuhara shared some thoughts about Iwata during the discussion, and mentioned that they used to visit the arcades “and play Daytona USA exactly twice” after work.

Digimon Survive announced for North America and Europe

Digimon Survive was recently announced for Japan. Thankfully, fans haven’t had to wait long about a release in other territories, as Bandai Namco confirmed today that the title is coming west.
Digimon Survive, a survival simulation RPG, will launch worldwide in 2019. We have the announcement and English version of yesterday’s trailer below.
