GameStop: Breath of the Wild “reinvigorated” Wii U sales – many pre-owned systems and new Zelda copies
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 39 Comments
Switch isn’t the easiest thing to find at retail right now. Due to that as well as the strong response to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, pre-owned Wii U sales have been “reinvigorated,” according to GameStop senior director of merchandising Eric Bright.
Bright told GameRant that GameStop has been moving many pre-owned Wii U systems and new copies of Zelda. The situation overall “completely racked up the Wii U market.”
Bright said:
“With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming out, we’re seeing great results in our pre-owned Wii U sales. We’re selling a lot of pre-owned Wii U consoles along with brand new Wii U copies of Zelda. Breath of the Wild has reinvigorated sales of the Wii U with Nintendo Switch being sold out at so many retailers. The Switch launching and Zelda launching completely racked up the Wii U market.”

Nintendo Treehouse Log opens on Tumblr
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 161 Comments
In the past, Nintendo of America’s Treehouse group was well-known for being closed off. But that started to change in recent years thanks to somewhat regular live streams, beginning with hours of video content during E3.
Things have now been taken one step further. Today, the Nintendo Treehouse Log opened on Tumblr.
What is this all about anyway? Here’s a quick overview from Nintendo’s Bill Trinen:
“I realize that we can’t yet really say with certainty what exactly the Nintendo Treehouse Log will become. What I can say is that it will be a place where we’ll post content periodically, rather than on a set schedule. The content will offer insight into games and franchises you love, presented from a unique Treehouse perspective. We may not cover every game or every IP, and we won’t pull the curtain all the way back, but our hope is that the Nintendo Treehouse Log will evolve into something fans will enjoy”.

Nintendo says “manufacturing variation” resulted in Joy-Con connectivity issues, now fixed at factories
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 63 Comments
Nintendo has provided Kotaku with an updated statement about the situation surrounding Joy-Con connectivity issues on Switch.
According to the company, the issues stemmed from a “manufacturing variation”, which caused “wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con.” Nintendo has already addressed things “at the factory level” and says it won’t be a problem moving forward.

Bloodstained officially announced for Switch, Wii U version cancelled
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 89 Comments
The team behind Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has made it official: the game is heading to Switch. Additionally, plans for the Wii U version have been cancelled. News about a Switch version of Bloodstained first emerged earlier this month.
In a Kickstarter update, it’s noted that “the situation has drastically changed after the release of Nintendo Switch.” It made sense to include Wii U during the campaign as Switch wasn’t in the picture at all, but that’s no longer so. “This change made it difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker, which has led us to drop the Wii U development and shift the development to Nintendo Switch,” the Kickstarter update reads.
Those who supported Bloodstained on Kickstarter can change their backer survey platform from Wii U to Switch or any other version. A refund should also be possible under most circumstances.
