Mario Bros movie McDonald's

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has a few months to go until its debut (you can see the latest trailer here by the way), but it looks like McDonald’s already has a big promotion planned – at least in Japan.

A flyer is starting to be distributed at the restaurant revealing that toys will be included with Happy Meals in just a few weeks. Two (well, technically three) waves will be happening. The first features Mario, Peach, Toad, and Donkey Kong. The second has Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and a character that isn’t currently named but seems to be some kind of Luma. For the third round, it sounds like all of the eight toys will be offered at the same time.

Nintendo Land E3 2012 fireworks

Former Nintendo of America employees Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang have shared insight into the company’s notorious E3 2012 press conference which ended on the display of fireworks from Nintendo Land. The two reflected on what happened during a recent episode of their podcast.

Nintendo has had some amazing moments at E3, but some infamous ones as well. Some will probably never forget the Wii Music performance with DJ Ravi Drums in 2008 and things going wrong during Shigeru Miyamoto’s demo of Zelda: Skyward Sword in 2010. Unfortunately, another instance of things not exactly going well was the aforementioned Nintendo Land closer.

A new Nintendo Monthly Rewind video has gone up for November 2022. It goes over the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, Chill Season in Splatoon 3, new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC, and more.

Mario Bros Movie Mushroom Kingdom

The Super Mario Bros. Movie made an appearance at The Game Awards 2022 tonight. Keegan-Michael Key, the voice of Toad, stopped by to show off a new clip.

Toad naturally had a big focus here. In the clip, Mario is introduced to the big city as he makes his way into the Mushroom Kingdom.

The Game Awards 2022 live stream

The Game Awards 2022 will be kicking off soon, and we’ve got a live stream for the event ready to go.

The event starts at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET / 12:30 AM in the UK / 1:30 AM in Europe. Things are technically starting with the “Opening Act”, but should be worth watching as it’ll have awards and a dozen world premieres, including multiple new game announcements.

Microsoft dropped some surprising news this week, revealing that it had reached a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has now followed up with some additional information. This comes as part of an interview with The Washington Post.

One of the main takeaways is that the goal would be for a new Call of Duty game to end up on a Nintendo system at the same time as other platforms. However, it’s unlikely for anything to materialize next year. If it’s not blocked by regulators, Microsoft’s acquisition deal of Activision Blizzard – including the Call of Duty franchise – wouldn’t happen until June 2023.

Zelda Breath of the Wild Game of the Year

During their latest podcast, former Nintendo of America staffers Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang (known for the long-running Nintendo Minute show on Nintendo’s YouTube channel) shared insight into the Big N’s presence at The Game Awards 2017, including how there was some internal concerns that the company wouldn’t win the coveted Game of the Year prize.

2017 was a massive year for Nintendo. The Switch itself launched in March, and a bunch of big games released, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. In the end, it was Zelda that won Game of the Year.

Fire Emblem Heroes Veronica figure

The new Veronica figure for Fire Emblem Heroes was only just announced a few days ago, but we already have news about its release date and pre-orders along with new photos.

Intelligent Systems is leading the way on the creation of the figure itself. It’s a 1/7 scale design of the princess of the Emblian Empire. Good Smile says that her “powerful appearance, imbued with the magic of the legendary dragon Embla, has been captured in figure form.”

Summer Game Fest 2023

It’s been announced that Summer Game Fest will be returning in 2023 for its fourth year.

Once again, a live kickoff show will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023. The world premieres, live gameplay demos, and announcements will take place in front of a live audience of fans for the first time at the state of the art YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. Of course, there will be a live stream as well across all major streaming platforms including YouTube and Twitch. Fans can purchase tickets to attend the event in early 2023.

Nintendo Live 2022

Original (7/21): Nintendo Live 2022 will be taking place later this year in Japan over a two-day weekend, Nintendo has announced.

The event has been on hiatus since 2019. However, Nintendo is now decided to bring it back, albeit with some cautions in place.
