With Kirby having just turned 30, Masahiro Sakurai has spoken about the character’s signature victory dance.
Sakurai is largely known for his work on the Super Smash Bros. series these days. Because of that, it can be easy to forget that he’s the creator of Kirby as well.

The 30th anniversary of Kirby is officially here. The first game in the series, Kirby’s Dream Land, launched in Japan on April 27, 1992. North America and Europe would later get the game in August of that year.
In celebration of Kirby’s 30th anniversary, a new piece of art was shared. Get a look at the design above.

Pokemon: Hisuian Snow anime to debut on May 18, first details

During Pokemon Day 2022, it was announced that the production of an online animated series set in the Hisui region had started. Today, The Pokemon Company confirmed that the Pokemon Legends: Arceus anime, titled Pokemon: Hisuian Snow, will debut on May 18, 2022 and shared first details.
The series offers an original storyline. Protagonist Alec, who is aboard a boat bound for the Hisui region, reminisces about the first time his father took him there. Fans will learn about Alec’s stories from the past with three different episodes.

Game Freak announces plans for optional four-day work week

Today, Game Freak announced that it will be providing employees with the option to take a third day off a week for the purposes of child care or family care. According to the press release, this is to be decided upon monthly as needed such as for summer vacations. Employees will be able to take advantage of the work option starting this month.
During the four-day work week, employees will be responsible for 32 hours at Game Freak at eight hours a day. However, there is a slight reduction in salary and bonuses compared to the normal work week. Staffers will receive 80 percent of total pay during the months they work four days.

Super Mario Bros. animated movie delayed to April 2023

The Super Mario Bros. animated movie has been delayed to April 2023, Nintendo has just announced.
Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who is a co-producer on the film, shared the news. He and Illumination founder Chris Meledandri were in agreement to push the film back April 7 in North America and April 28 in Japan. It was previously planned for December of this year.

Nintendo issues statement on NLRB labor complaint

Nintendo has provided a statement regarding the situation that was reported this week regarding a labor complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board.
An unnamed employee filed the complaint last week. In it, the staffer claims that Nintendo of America and hiring firm Aston Carter violated their legally protected right to unionize.

Star Fox character designer wants to see Star Fox Zero on Switch

Takaya Imamura, the original character designer for Star Fox, has expressed interest in wanting to see Star Fox Zero on Switch.
That news comes directly from Imamura’s Twitter account. In the same tweet, he said that he’d be willing to help out with a sequel to Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins if Nintendo ever pursued such a project.

Hallmark’s new ornaments for the year are typically revealed around April, and the tradition continues with the company’s batch of products for 2022.
Over on the retailer’s website, we’re able to see what sort of Nintendo offerings are planned for this year. Ornaments include a design for Link as he appears in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tanooki Mario, Bowser from Mario Kart, K.K. Slider, and more.

Nintendo staffer claims their right to unionize was violated, complaint filed with National Labor Relations Board

Nintendo of America is currently facing a situation in which an unnamed worker has claimed that the company, along with global hiring firm Aston Carter, violated their legally protected right to unionize. A filing complaint was made with the National Labor Relations Board on Friday.
The crux of the matter comes down to the staffer alleging that that Nintendo of America and Aston Carter participated in “concerted activities” and made “coercive actions”. In doing so, this interfered with their legally protected right to organize.
