Nexomon Extinction

The monster catching RPG Nexomon Extinction was known to be releasing on Switch sometime this summer. Now thanks to the latest announcement from publisher PQube, we can say that it’ll be available on August 28.

This week, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be hosting its latest tournament. In celebration of Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, players will only be able to use fighters from those titles. The same also goes with featured stages.

The new Smash Bros. tournament goes live on July 24. Per usual, it will last for a total of three days.

Dex

Red Art Games has announced that it will produce a physical version of the action-RPG Dex. Pre-orders open on July 23 at 5 PM CEST.

A total of 2,800 copies will be produced. If all goes as planned, they’ll be sent out sometime in Q4 2020.

You’ll be able to pre-order a copy of Dex for €29.99 on Red Art Games’ website here.

Psyonix has announced substantial plans for Rocket League. Later this summer, the game will be going free-to-play. It was previously a game users purchased from the eShop.

Other additions and changes are also in the works, including cross-progression. Psyonix will also be revamping and improving major features like Tournaments and Challenges.

Dead Cells

Dead Cells’ latest update is live on Switch. Update of Plenty includes changes to the weapons and economy, scrolls being removed from ++ and S weapons, smoothed out difficulty progression, and more.

Publisher VLG and developer Studio V have announced Dark Renaissance, a game that “blends RPGs, period pieces and graphic novels together to depict the adventures of a Venetian mercenary who must uncover the shocking secrets hidden behind the scientific, artistic and cultural achievements of the 15th century Renaissance.” It will launch sometime in 2021 on Switch.

Bestselling author Matteo Strukul is penning the game’s story. Award-winning composer David Logan is also on board.

The adventure RPG roguelike Crown Trick, which was recently confirmed for Switch, now has a more specific release window. Team17 has picked up the game for publishing and announced today that the launch will take place in Q3 2020.
