Game historian and Retronauts podcast host Jeremy Parish is teaming up with Fangamer and engineer Mike Choi on a new vertical grip for Switch. The accessory is built for games that support tate (or portrait) display modes.

Unfortunately, many details surrounding the grip are currently unknown. It’s unclear when it will be available and how much it will cost. However, Parish says more information is coming soon.

Choice Provisions and Nicalis have finally nailed down a release date for Runner3. The Switch console exclusive won’t be delayed any further, as it’s penciled in for May 22.

Runner3 will be sold both physically and digitally. If you pick up the digital release, you’ll receive the game on a cartridge, an instruction booklet, CD sampler, and light-up PVC character strap.

We have a new trailer for Runner3 below.

Inti Creates posted another developer gameplay video for Gal*Gun 2. This time, CyberConnect2 president Hiroshi Matsuyama was brought in to try out the game. You can find that video below, along with a live stream recording from this week with even more footage.

Thimbleweed Park joined the Switch eShop last September. Now thanks to Limited Run Games, a physical version is in the works.

Thimbleweed Park will actually be Limited Run’s first release on Switch. It’s slated for March 30, with pre-orders opening for a limited amount of time soon.

Limited Run will also have a collector’s edition thanks to a partnership with Fangamer.

A number of outlets recently went hands-on with Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. Among what was shown, we have first word on a Switch-exclusive mode.

Game Informer reports that on Switch, Super Street Fighter II’s tournament mode lets players with multiple systems put them into tabletop mode and play musical chairs by physically moving to the right unit for the next fight. The site does say that it allows for tournaments to “move fairly quickly by making the fights proceed concurrently,” but “it can also be kind of a confusing mess figuring out which system and controller you need to be at for your next match.”

Two Switch games from 2K Sports have been heavily discounted on the North American eShop. Everything is essentially 50% off.

These deals are live for NBA 2K18:

This week’s Famitsu scans are now available. Highlights include Ys VIII Switch, Lode Runner Legacy, Octopath Traveler, and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. Scans of all games are below.
