LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 players can get their hands on new DLC based on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 starting today. It features a new level inspired by the movie’s opening scene where players battle a giant alien monster known as the Abilisk. It also adds Star-Lord (variant), Kraglin, Stakar Ogord, Tullk, Rocket (Ravager variant), and Ego as new characters.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 pack can be purchased as individual content or as part of the season pass. The season pass is also included in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Deluxe Edition.

The upcoming issue of Famitsu features an article on Valkyria Chronicles 4. We will have more details once we get our hands on the full issue of the magazine tomorrow, but for now here’s what we learned from the preview of the article on Famitsu’s website (thanks to Siliconera for the translation):

First up, some details on the game’s leveling system. You don’t actually level up each character individually, but rather the classes as a whole. After you reach a certain experience threshold, you can upgrade the units belonging to that class.

The official Japanese Fire Emblem Warriors Twitter account has posted screenshots of the three new History Mode maps that will be part of the game’s first DLC pack launching this week. Azura’s map is based on the destroyed Hoshidan village square as seen in chapter 5 of Fire Emblem Fates, “Mother”. The other two maps are based on the ice tribe’s village and Izumo castle.

The BIU, the German games industry association, has revealed its sales awards for this past November. Super Mario Odyssey has received the platinum award, which means that it sold between 200,000 and 500,000 copies in November alone. Splatoon 2 got the gold award, meaning that it sold between 100,000 and 200,000 copies.

These are both very impressive numbers, especially since Mario Odyssey launched in October and Splatoon 2 was released all the way back in July.

Before Soulcalibur VI was revealed, there were (perhaps unfounded) rumors about a Switch version. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look to be happening. Some had hoped that Bandai Namco could be saving news about a Switch version for January’s Nintendo Direct, but that doesn’t appear to be the case either.

Producer Motohiro Okubo told Metro that Soulcalibur VI isn’t in development for Switch. That’s partially because the project started over three years ago, well before the console existed.

Game Informer has posted the next part of its coverage for its month-long features of Mega Man. For the latest entry, the magazine focuses on audio design and spoke with audio director Ryo Yoshii.

Yoshii indicated that Capcom is taking the sounds of Mega Man 11 very seriously. In line with the visual look, the team wanted to modernize the audio.

Nintendo Network

There isn’t much time remaining in 2017, but Nintendo is gearing up for its busiest week of maintenance this year. A ton of different maintenance periods are planned, affecting individual games, the eShops, and Nintendo’s systems in general. Over a dozen sessions are currently listed.

Here’s the schedule as things stand now:

Portal Knights’ new update on Switch has arrived. Version 1.2.2 is now available for all players to download.

As far as we’re aware, the patch only fixes a memory issue that plagued the game previously. We’ll let you know if we hear about the update involving anything else.
