Nintendo has confirmed the theme of the 20th and next Voting gauntlet in Fire Emblem Heroes, titled “Mothers and Sons”.

As one would expect, the competition this time around will begin by having certain mother characters of the series facing off against their canonical sons. The event will begin on January 31st and run until February 6th, with each of the three rounds lasting two days.

Falling in line with previous installments, two new Summoning Focuses are now available that feature the characters involved. The “Voting Gauntlet Mothers” set will focus on Cherche, Lissa, and Mikoto, while “Voting Gauntlet Sons” will highlight Leif, Owain, and male Corrin.

Images of the bracket, as well as the Summoning Focuses, can be viewed below.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day this upcoming month, players of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be receiving a free best-friend confection to give to a special Animal in their camp.

At this time, it is unknown when this gift will be given to players or how long it will be available for. Users will want to be very selective with who they give heir confection to, as there will only be one.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. Animal Crossing moves all the way to #2, and Dragon Quest XI S enters the top five for the first time.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between January 10 and January 16.

Earlier this month, Humble started selling codes for digital Nintendo titles on its store for the first time. Switch and 3DS owners have another way of purchasing games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon.

There’s just one downside to Humble’s partnership with Nintendo. Unfortunately, only those in the United States can purchase from the store. The one bright spot? The opportunity could be expanding in the future.

During a recent Humble Bundle live stream, it was stated that the team is “looking into the future possibility of bringing in more countries”. It was reiterated right after, “Don’t worry, we’re looking into it for you guys.” If we happen to hear any news about this in the future, we’ll let you know.

A couple of things are happening in the world of Nintendo within the next few days. Two deadlines are just around for corner.

If you’ve bought the physical version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, now is your last chance to register the game on My Nintendo for free Piranha Plant DLC. Again, you need to do so by January 31. Nintendo will email you a code to redeem the DLC for future use a bit after the game has been registered. If you bought the digital version, no further action is needed.

Also, on January 30, the Wii Shop Channel is closing for good. Nintendo already removed the ability to add Wii Points last year, but if you have any extra points lying around, you’ll need to spend them before January 30. This move is also accompanied by the end of remaining video-on-demand services on Wii.

If there’s one thing that’s remained consistent about Switch since its launch in March 2017, it’s the fact that Hamster has prepared at least one new NeoGeo game on a weekly basis. But after nearly two years, the streak has come to an end. You may have missed it, but there was no NeoGeo title on the eShop this week. There was a new entry in the Arcade Archives series though – that being Bomb Jack.

There are currently just over 100 NeoGame games out on Switch currently. Hamster hasn’t said it’s done with NeoGeo games, so perhaps we’ll see a return this week.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.
