Square Enix has released some new story details and screenshots for Dragon Quest XI. There’s a bit of an overlap with the details revealed in Jump magazine last week, like the bios for new characters Veronica and Senya, so we will only be covering the new stuff here, in addition to screenshots from the 3DS version. Thanks to Gematsu for the translation.
As the reincarnation of the legendary “Hero,” the protagonist sets off on a journey through a vast world. The protagonist, who grew up in the calm village of Ishi, turned 16 years old and took part in a coming-of-age ceremony as a village custom. As the reincarnation of the “Hero” that once saved the world, he understands that he is burdened with a great mission. To learn about the Hero and the Hero’s mission, he sets off on a journey from his hometown. The destination—the continent’s biggest country, “Delcadar.” Specifically, the king.
Based on his mother’s words that all will be revealed should he go to Delcadar, the protagonist in due course heads for the king. The protagonist informs the king of Delcadar that he is the “hero,” and the king began to tell him what the “hero” means—
And then, the Hero is called the child of the devil!
What the king of Delcadar said was unbelievable. He said that the Hero is the child of the devil. In response to the king’s words, the soldiers surround the protagonist with their swords pointed at him. What is the meaning of all of this? The story of the legendary “Hero” starts off with a bang. What is the fate of the protagonist?
In addition to the maintenance times for the 3DS, Wii U & Switch online services noted here, Nintendo announced another brief period of maintenance for the Switch specifically. Online play and ranking may be unavailable during that period. Below are the exact times:
– 5:30 PM PT (March 6) – 7 PM PT (March 6)
– 8:30 PM ET (March 6) – 10 PM ET (March 6)
– 1:30 AM in the UK (March 7) – 3 AM in the UK (March 7)
– 2:30 AM in Europe (March 7) – 4 AM in Europe (March 7)
The Switch has now been released around the world, and sales numbers are starting to trickle in. In the UK, the Switch has sold around 80,000 units during its first two days on the market. For comparison’s sake, this is twice as much as the Wii U managed to do (40,000) but not quite as strong as the 3DS’ opening weekend, during which 113,000 units were sold. The Switch was also sold out at many retailers, so it’s likely that sales will remain strong in the following weeks.
The final Launch Celebration map is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes. It features normal and hard difficulties, and each one will reward you 3 orbs upon clearing. All of the maps are live until next week, so it is recommended that you play them to earn some extra orbs before the event ends.
Fire Emblem Heroes latest update includes a notification warning players against using the game improperly. It does not go into specifics as to what it is warning against.

Since the release of the game, we’ve detected improper use from some players. Countermeasures are being employed to address this, including temporarily limiting access to certain features.
Players who are subject tot these countermeasures will receive a notification in the “To you” section of the game’s notifications.
We asks all our players to abide by the User Agreement, including the Code of Conduct, as they continue to enjoy Fire Emblem Heroes.
The Alliance Alive, FuRyu’s upcoming 3DS RPG, has been delayed to June 22 in Japan for quality improvements. The game was originally set to release on March 30. Players who pre-order will receive a soundtrack CD and five 3DS themes as an apology.
Before the Switch version of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game was planned to have some touch features on the Wii U GamePad. Ultimately, those ideas were scrapped. The GamePad simply tells players that they can tap on the controller to enable off-TV play.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi recently chatted with IGN about the decision to cut the game’s touch features on Wii U. Once Switch was brought in and tests were done, Nintendo “noticed looking back and forth between the GamePad and the screen actually took a little something away from this type of Zelda game.”
Fujibayashi’s full comments are below.
News leaked out this weekend that Nintendo is localizing Goodbye! BoxBoy! as Bye-Bye BoxBoy! outside of Japan. Nintendo UK’s site indicates that the game is slated for March 23.
Even though there still hasn’t been an official announcement, a page has opened up with all of the pertinent details about Bye-Bye BoxBoy!, including a demo. Read up on everything below.
