Simogo’s acclaimed horror game Year Walk will come to Wii U this fall, the developer announced today. The Wii U version of the game will have some unique features, like motion controls and making use of the Game Pad’s speakers in a unique way. Check out the trailer below:
This Thursday will see the release of another Wii game as a downloadable title on the Wii U eShop. You’ll be able to buy PokePark Wii – Pikachu’s Adventure for £17.99 / €19.99. The game was originally released back in 2009 in Japan and in 2010 in the rest of the world.
Since last year, it’s been possible for North American and Japanese users to redeem eShop download codes without turning on their Wii U or 3DS. Unfortunately, European Nintendo fans have had to wait a while for that feature to become available in their region. That time has now come – visit this URL, log in with a European NNID and you can start entering download codes. Pre-ordering games and remotely downloading them still doesn’t work, but hopefully that’s a feature that will be added in the near future.
Bill Trinen is the latest notable Nintendo staffer to have offered up a couple of comments on the passing of Satoru Iwata. Have a look at what he said on Twitter below.
Satoru Iwata was a great leader, mentor and friend whom I will miss dearly. May we forever remember his smile and the smiles he gave us.

In a Kickstarter update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, project lead Koji Igarashi revealed that the game will have over 1,600 rooms. That makes this project his largest Castlevania-esque title in terms of scope. It also means that Bloodstained will be around 1.5x the size of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (not counting the inverted castle).
Due to the high number of rooms, the development team is considering adding more enemies to fill them up. Igarashi is also giving thought to expanding the stor and introducing more characters.
Nintendo has prepared a new system update for 3DS systems. Version 9.9.0-26U, which should be out in all territories, makes “improvements to overall system stability” and “system security”. Additionally, “other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience”.
As we always say, today’s update is required in order to access the eShop. You’ll be prompted to download the update upon booting up the digital store.

As we reported earlier today, the Nintendo World store in New York has set up a little memorial for Satoru Iwata, who passed away over the weekend. Check out some photos below.
It’s worth noting that the memorial will be kept in place for roughly two weeks. The notebooks (and potentially other items left by visitors) will then be sent to Nintendo of America’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
With the passing of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, fans located near the company’s North America were hopping to pay their respects today. Visitors left behind flowers, a special drawing, and even a silver Mario amiibo.
A funeral for Satoru Iwata will be held on July 17, according to ABC. His wife Kayoko should be attending the service when it takes place later this week.
Iwata passed away on Saturday due to a bile duct growth. He was 55 years old.
