Talking about The Game Awards 2021, with less Nintendo than usual

This year, The Game Awards happened on Thursday, though there wasn’t a lot to see for Nintendo fans. To be honest, the show was not very different from recent ones. As one of the sponsors, Nintendo usually presents one or two announcements. This year in particular there was nothing coming directly from the company.
In today’s video, I invited Bryce – one of the editors on the site – to join me in a conversation about Nintendo’s lack of presence at The Game Awards. We also talked about other highlights from the show such as the new trailer for Sonic Frontiers and the Cuphead DLC. You can check the video down below.

The Game Awards 2021 are almost here with the show kicking off in a couple of hours, and we’ve got a live stream set up for the event.
New announcements and updates on previously-known titles are expected here. Nintendo often tends to have some sort of presence at the show, so there’s a good chance that the company will have something to highlight. Other than that, we should see a few third-party Switch games as well – the new Sonic project is expected to show up at the very least.

Mario Golf: Super Rush and the “free updates” model

I had a good time playing Mario Golf: Super Rush earlier this year when the game launched. New modes such as Speed Golf and Battle Golf were nice additions, particularly for multiplayer matches. But after a while, I saw myself rapidly drifting away from the game and simply waiting for more updates as Nintendo promised.
I must confess that now, after all the updates, I feel a little disappointed with the game in general, and that’s what I talk about in the video below. I go over how the “free updates” model that Nintendo has been using for a while now may actually be doing more bad than good for the games developed by Camelot. Why Mario Kart 8 is a phenomenon

In the last financial report from Nintendo, we learned that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales have reached 38.74 million units, surpassing Mario Kart Wii as the best-selling game in the franchise. Being a “deluxe” edition of a Wii U title, I found it surprising how incredibly successful the game is.
There are obvious reasons for those crazy numbers such as the Switch’s success and the overall popularity of Mario Kart. However, in a new video today, I decided to analyze what exactly makes it special on the inside, why the game is so universally approachable, and how it differs from past games in the series. A new month rolled right on this week. Now that we’re in December, we want to know what you’ve been playing.
We’ve seen a number of big releases over the past month or so, including Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl, Shin Megami Tensei V, Blue Reflection: Second Light, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Death’s Door. There have even been things like the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC and Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda.

[Review] Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl originally came to us here in the west back in 2007. I was a senior in high school when I first got my copy and ended up stopping my clock in game at 999 hours. To put it lightly, I was hooked. The series’ first entry on the DS gave us a lush new region to explore with interesting additions like the Poketch and the ability to select moves in battle that utilized the system’s touchscreen. Along with being able to bring over Pokemon from the previous generation of games, a more complete Pokedex was possible, and it was easier to attain before. Nostalgia aside, it’s now 2021 and we have the remakes in hand with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl on Switch. Do the Sinnoh games live up to the hype, or should we have left this one… underground?
Danganronpa dev on possibility of Danganronpa Another Episode Switch port

Shun Sasaki, a project planner that has worked on the Danganronpa series, has addressed the possibility of porting Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls to Switch.
Sasaki previously spoke to Famitsu discussing the series’ 10th anniversary. The interview was conducted both to commemorate the big milestone and celebrate the fact that the franchise has now made its debut on Switch. Sasaki was also asked about his thoughts on the possibility of a port of the spin-off title Ultra Despair Girls, which is currently only available on PlayStation platforms and PC.

Top 5 Nintendo moments at The Game Awards

With each passing year, The Game Awards cements itself as one of the biggest presentations in gaming nowadays with the number of viewers growing. However, some have criticized the show for its pacing, awards, and excess of sponsors.
It’s undeniable though that a lot of memorable moments have come about during The Game Awards, and quite a few of them have been Nintendo-related. With this year’s presentation happening soon, I thought it would be nice to reflect on five great Nintendo moments at the show, which covers announcements as well as a couple of other memories. [Let’s Talk] The Game Awards 2021 hopes and dreams

Each year at The Game Awards, Nintendo typically has something to reveal. Some pretty big news and announcements have come from the show over the years, whether it’s been a first in-game look at Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Bayonetta 3, or Sephiroth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The number of announcements tend to vary, but we’d be shocked if Nintendo didn’t have anything at all planned for this year.
The Game Awards 2021 are only a couple of weeks away, with the show set to air on December 9. Is there anything you’d personally like to see Nintendo bring along? We also can’t forget about third-parties as there have been notable announcements from them as well with Mortal Kombat 11, Crash Bandicoot 4, and Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection as just a few examples. Looking back on Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC

I know I’m very late here, but I finally finished The Champions’ Ballad DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild not too long ago. And to be honest, I found it to be a very satisfying ending to the title’s Expansion Pass. A lot of the elements from the base game were taken to another level and playing it so many years after the release of the original game made me remember why Breath of the Wild is so good.
In today’s video, I share my opinions about the DLC and I also discuss how some elements that could be a good direction for the already announced Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. You can check the video down below.
