Game Freak on the removal of Exp. Share in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
As the name implies, past Pokemon games included the Exp. Share item so that members in the party not currently used in battle can earn experience. However, in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, Game Freak has done away with it entirely. All party members are now automatically given experience equally. Some fans were surprised by this since there’s no way of turning it off.
In an interview with Dutch site InsideGamer, director Shigeru Ohmori explained the move. He noted that most players had Exp. Share turned on, and those who want to train one Pokemon at a time can remove everyone else from the party.

Larian Studios today announced that Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition has been updated on Switch. Players can now invite friends to their game using the new friend invite feature the console recently added. You simply need to pick the friend you’d like to invite, and if they accept, they’ll join you party.
Order & Magic is also on the way as the latest Gift Bag DLC drop for Divinity: Original Sin 2. The contents of each Gift Bag can be found via the in-game menu, where you can independently enable or disable each individual feature. These are compatible with all prior Gift Bags (Beauty Salon and Song Of Nature), and you’re free to enable as many or as few as you’d like.
Here’s what Gift Bag 3 includes:
[Review] New Super Lucky’s Tale

System: Switch
Release date: November 8, 2019
Developer: Playful
Publisher: Playful
When many think of Nintendo, they see a single word pop into their minds: platformers. Nintendo has remained steadfast in its commitment to the platforming genre for decades, even as the gaming landscape has shifted and evolved around them considerably. Third-party and indie developers have long relied on this association too, and have routinely seen the lion’s share of their success on Nintendo consoles come from releasing platforming adventures with mass appeal. As a result of all this, you could say that the watermark for platforming excellence is considerably higher on Nintendo consoles than it is elsewhere, considering the long lineage of quality that already exists. I’m here to tell you that this watermark has been adequately met – and in some ways even exceeded – by New Super Lucky’s Tale.

Nintendo clarified that the Switch model consumers will be getting is HAC-001. That’s the system with battery performance ranging from 2.5 to 6.5 hours. A few months ago, a new and improved Switch came to market as model HAC-001(-01) featuring battery life between 4.5 – 9 hours.

This past week, Koei Tecmo were kind enough to invite us to a pre-release event for their upcoming title, “Fairy Tail”. Due to a last-minute bug, the Switch build was unavailable to try out, but we went hands-on with the PS4 build of the game and were able to capture direct-feed gameplay of new features. This includes the battle system, every spell available, a boss battle with Jellal, exploring Magnolia, Lucy’s room, close-ups of the character models and more.
Check out our in-depth impressions post here, and look forward to a second interview with producer Keisuke Kikuchi soon on the website. You can also look forward to this weekend’s episode of Nintendo Everything Podcast (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, PocketCasts, more) for Oni Dino’s first-hand experience at the event.
