September has been a big month for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Banjo-Kazooie was added to the game, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury was revealed, and it was announced that even more DLC characters are on the way.

Masahiro Sakurai discussed the major news in his latest Famitsu column, which we now have a full translation of. The Smash Bros. director commented on plans for even more DLC fighters (including that Nintendo again makes the decision on who should be implemented), not taking any big breaks, and wanting to push records as a massive fighter with many collaborations.

A new month rolled right on in a couple of weeks ago. Now that we’re in September, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Are you giving Astral Chain a shot? Trying something else that’s new from the past few weeks? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

Last year, Capcom finally delivered Mega Man 11. Fortunately, the series still has a bright future ahead, as the next major entry in the series has confirmed to be in development.

Speaking with Gamer, as translated by Rockman Corner, Mega Man series producer Kazuhiro Tsuchyia confirmed the news. He told the site:

At E3 2019, we had a chance to speak with Natsume producer Taka Maekawa. We talked Harvest Moon: Mad Dash and how it came to be, the company’s new indie program, the possibility of revisiting more classic IPs similar to what was done with Wild Guns Reloaded, and more. Oh, and we snuck in a question about Medabots as well.

Just after it was announced at the Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo has confirmed that the Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack is coming west. It will be released “soon”.

Astral Chain

Famitsu recently published an interview with Astral Chain director Takahisa Taura and supervisor Hideki Kamiya. While we posted some tidbits previously, we’ve taken another look at the discussion and have a bunch of additional information to share.

Taura knew that directing was a tough and lonely endeavor, but it was even tougher and lonelier than he expected. Since it was a new IP, it was hard to define what was right and wrong to do, so he tried out a lot of ideas during production. He gained even more respect for Kamiya since he’s been a director so many times before.

During a live stream event today at the Tokyo Game Show, Dengeki debuted the first footage from the newly-unveiled Katanakami, a spin-off of the Way of the Samurai series. Check out the full recording below.

Koei Tecmo and Gust are bringing three more Atelier games to Switch. Revealed at the Tokyo Game Show today, Atelier Ayesha DX, Atelier Escha & Logy DX, and Atelier Shallie DX are all coming to Switch.

A release date was not announced, but pre-orders open in Japan on September 26. Each title will come with DLC from their original releases along with elements from their Plus versions.

Atelier Ayesha, Atelier Escha & Logy, and Atelier Shallie are a part of the series’ Dusk storyline. They originally debuted in Japan in 2012, 2013, and 2014 respectively, though they were later made available in the west as well.

At the Tokyo Game Show today, Spike Chunsoft and Acquire announced Katanakami. This is a new action RPG that acts as a spin-off to the Way of the Samurai series.
