Nintendo has put out an official announcement recapping all of the news from today’s Nindies Showcase. Find the full press release below.

The Nintendo Switch system has quickly become the go-to platform for indie developers. As more and more top indie developers bring their creations to Nintendo’s console, they continue to deliver high-quality experiences that can be played at home or taken on the go. A new Nindies Showcase video today demonstrated the breadth of the Nintendo Switch indie library and the enthusiasm developers have for the platform. This includes the revelation of the rhythmic action-adventure game Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda from Brace Yourself Games. That’s in addition to announcements from indie houses like Devolver Digital, bringing system-exclusive content like Katana ZERO and My Friend Pedro, and new game reveals like RAD from award-winning studio DOUBLE FINE PRODUCTIONS.

“Top indie developers look to Nintendo Switch to showcase their games to a broad audience,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations. “The diversity of indie content we discussed today demonstrates how Nintendo Switch players can find quality indie games of nearly any type.”

Nintendo kicked off today’s Nindies Showcase with a bang. Cuphead, an acclaimed game from StudioMDHR and Microsoft, is coming to Switch. It’s also just a month away.

Microsoft has since revealed some interesting information about plans for Cuphead. The company says that it is working with StudioMDHR to implement Xbox Live features on Switch. The two sides are in the “early stage” currently, so this will be available as a “post-launch update”.

Cadence of Hyrule, a new game coming from the developer of Crypt of the NecroDancer, was announced today to close out the latest Nindies Showcase. A release is planned for this spring.

Inti Creates has announced that it is working on Blaster Master Zero 2 for Switch. The game is launching on the eShop today for $9.99.

The Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase Spring 2019 is kicking off in just a short while. Look forward to the start of the broadcast at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 4 PM in the UK / 5 PM in Europe.

According to a listing on the Japanese eShop, Giga Wrecker Alt. is launching for Switch on May 2. Rising Star Games will be publishing the title worldwide. Game Freak, the team behind the core Pokemon series, is the developer behind the game.

Konami has just announced a trio of collections for Switch. Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics, Castlevania Anniversary Collection, and Contra Anniversary Collection are launching this year.

Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics is first up, and is due out very soon. It’ll launch digitally on April 18 for $19.99, and includes the following games:

Coming off of the holidays, the start of a new year can be a bit slow in terms of games and sales. That isn’t the case with Nintendo and 2019, however.

In the United States last month, Nintendo generated its highest February month hardware dollar sales since 2011. Also, the Big N reached the highest year-to-date dollar sales for Nintendo produced hardware since 2011.
