Last night, Nintendo teased that a new update would be distributed for ARMS today. Version 5.2.0 is now live for all players.

Today’s update adds in a few new things. The primary highlights include the ability to use “Big Time ARMS” from the Party Crash mode in regular battle, as well as the addition of new Gallery images.

The full patch notes are as follows:

Update: With this update, the Switch eShop has also been updated to show how many gold points can be earned from a digital purchase.

Original: Nintendo recently announced that it would be possible to use My Nintendo Gold Points when purchasing digital games on Switch. This is going into effect starting today, which should be as soon as maintenance ends (roughly 90 minutes from now).

The way this works is that Switch owners can get 5% back on digital purchases and 1% back on games bought physically. You’ll be able to apply Gold Points to purchases during checkout on the eShop or on Nintendo’s website. 1 Gold Point amounts to 1 cent. Another way of putting this: if you pay $59.99 for a game on the eShop, you’ll earn 300 Gold Points, which can be $3.00 towards your next purchase.

Nintendo Labo

Over the past couple of weeks, Famitsu has started running regular features on Nintendo Labo. As part of this, the magazine spoke with four different members of the gaming industry for their thoughts on the new Switch initiative. Rez and Space Channel 5 creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada, Bandai Namco’s Jun Tamaoki (Summer Lesson), and Famitsu editor-in-chief Katsuhiko Hayashi weighed in on Nintendo Labo.

We’ve gone ahead and translated their various remarks. You can find the full comments from each of these people below.

A lot has been made over a new issue that has surfaced with Switch as the system rings in its first anniversary. For games that have been played over a year, the play time count in your profile is no longer displaying properly. Instead of showing how long you’ve played, the profile instead starts out by stating that you’ve started playing it “x days ago” – which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Nintendo of America commented on the issue yesterday, indicating that the situation is being investigated and more news is coming soon. Nintendo’s Japanese support site now has further news about what has occurred.

A new month is here! We just entered March this week, so that means we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Have you started up something entirely new for the month? Do games such as Bayonetta 1 + 2 and Dragon Quest Builders still have your attention? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments below!

Nintendo Switch

Can you believe it’s already been a full year since Switch launched? It’s been a whirlwind for Nintendo, as the system has been more successful than anyone could have predicted.

Switch was released less than two months after its full unveiling following last year’s January presentation. Since then we’ve seen great game after great game, including Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Splatoon 2, and others – and that’s just on the first-party front. Many fantastic third-party games and hit indie titles have helped make Switch’s first year special.

Switch’s first year is officially in the books. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the console in the years to follow.

Here are a few messages from Nintendo and other developers:

Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream started interviewing the Fire Emblem Warriors developers following the release of the game’s DLC packs. For the first discussion, producer Yosuke Hayashi and director Hiroya Usuda were brought in. The two discussed how the game was received, the additions of Azura, Niles, and Oboro, how the inclusion of the Armor Strike system came to be, and more.

You can read our full translation of the interview below. Stay tuned, as we’ll have the next interview focusing on the Shadow Dragon DLC Pack soon.
