A look at Pokemon GO’s new driving warning
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 5 Comments
When you’re driving, you shouldn’t be playing Pokemon GO. Niantic wants to make that clear with a new warning that can now be issued following today’s new update.
If you’re going too fast, you may see the notice appear. It’s a basic warning which asks users not to play and drive. You’ll need to tap “I’m a passenger” in order to continue playing. That seems pretty fair!

Pokemon GO’s new update replaces “Nearby” feature with “Sightings”
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 6 Comments
Update: Now that we have slightly more extensive patch notes, here’s what Niantic has to say about Sightings officially:
“We’re currently testing a variation of the ‘Nearby Pokemon’ feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokemon UI.”
There’s another aspect of today’s Pokemon GO update not included in Niantic’s official patch notes (version 0.33.0). After applying the update, you should see that the “Nearby” feature has been replaced as “Sightings”. Nearby was removed entirely with version 1.1.0 / 0.31.0.
How Sighting actually works is unclear. Some players have been messing around with it for a bit though, and their reports may offer up some clues as to how it functions.
Pokemon GO seems to scan the area around you roughly every 15 seconds. If a new Pokemon spawns, it’ll be added to the Sighting lists. If it goes away, it’ll be removed. Those who move too far away from a Pokemon will see it disappear. Apparently the distance is roughly 700 feet.
Keep in mind that this information is entirely unofficial at the moment.

Azure Striker Gunvolt’s Japanese voice mode still in the works, will be included in the Striker Pack
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 0 comments
Last August, Inti Creates said that Azure Striker Gunvolt would be receiving an update which would add Japanese voices. Although it has still yet to be released, the good news is that it’s still on the way. Moreover, the Japanese voice mode will absolutely be included in the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack.
Here’s the news from Inti Creates:
“Also, in regards to the Japanese Voice Mode for Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 on the 3DS, we are sorry that it is taking as long as it has to give you any concrete information. At this point, we can tell you that the Japanese Voice Mode will definitely be included in the Striker Pack for sure. Just like the Steam version, it will have all of the voices back in place and the new translation to go along with said voices. As for any sort of patch/update to the digital version of GV1, as soon as we have something for you, we will not hesitate to announce it.”
Speaking of the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, it’s late September launch isn’t entirely set in stone. According to Inti Creates, it “may extend slightly into October by a few days.”
Lastly, aside from that, today’s news update also includes official details on the Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 bosses Gibril and Asroc. Head past the break for the latest on these two characters.

Bethesda on potential NX support – “definitely something we will look at”
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 52 Comments
At QuakeCon, finder.com.au spoke with Pete Hines, vice-president of Bethesda Softworks. Hines was asked about the company’s stance regarding NX, and whether we can expect to see their titles on the new system.
Hines said in response:
“We talk to Nintendo all the time – we’re pretty well briefed in on what they are doing. It’s definitely something we will look at; and our philosophy is that we will put our games out on any format that supports the games as we envisage and make them. If the NX fits that from a technical standpoint, and fits the game that a developer in our stable is making, I don’t see why we would not put it out on NX. But it’s too early to say, ‘we’ll definitely be putting games out or not.’ Like with mobile, we want to have the right fit for the right formats.”
Bethesda has some heavy-hitting franchises between the likes of Elder Scrolls, DOOM, and Dishonored. Having more third-party games on NX certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing. Only time will tell if Bethesda’s titles will end up on the platform, however.
