REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Developed by Intelligent Systems, the creators of the beloved Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series, the single- and multiplayer turn-based strategy game Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. launches for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on March 13. The game places players on the front lines of a series of intricately designed battlefields and requires them to use both brains and brawn to emerge from battle victorious. Players are thrust into the boots of some of the most original and unexpected playable characters ever assembled in a Nintendo video game. These agents of S.T.E.A.M. (Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace) are composed of literature- and folklore-inspired icons like John Henry, Tiger Lily, Tom Sawyer, Lion from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and many more – all led by Abraham Lincoln. Xenoblade Chronicles X battle details

New information regarding battles in Xenoblade Chronicles X have come through the game’s official website. Find a summary of details below, courtesy of Siliconera.

– Melee and ranged attacks
– Option to perform auto-attacks of course
– Can destroy parts of enemies to make fights easier and acquire some items
– Melee weapon-types include: Knife, Long Sword, Shield, Dual Sword, Javelin, Photon Saber, and more
– Shooting weapon-types: Assault Rifle, Dual Gun, Sniper Rifle, Ray Gun, Psycho Launcher, and more
– Character information shown on the top-left of the screen
– Upper part shows more of the enemy, such as how they aggro, their level, name, and HP
– Bottom shows Arts Palette, followed by what type of weapon you’re currently using, and an indicator that tells you your position against the enemy you’re facing or have targeted
– TP (Tension Point): fills up when you auto-attack
– Inner Level: indicates the character’s raw power
– Class Rank: indicates the character’s current class rank
– Target Enemy: Selects the closest enemy to target
– Draw Weapon: Unsheathes weapon to commence combat
– Target Lock: Will have character and view focus on the target
– Switch Target: Used to switch targets when there are multiple enemies
– Parts Lock: Used to continue aiming for a certain part of an enemy
– Switch Weapon: Switches between melee and shooting weapons
– Arts: Launches a special ability from the character
– By using 1,000 TP, they’ll use an even more powerful Arts (the Tension Arts)
– Help Up: By using 3,000 TP, you can revive a fallen comrade
– Ally Commands: Give orders to your party, such as “concentrate attacks” or “gather,” and more
– Indicate Battle Menu: Give specific commands to individual party members or the entire party
– These include “go with melee,” “go with shooting,” “get in your Doll,” and other specific commands
– There’s also an emergency escape option that will take 15 seconds to make a run, leading you to the nearest landmark
– Retreat: Makes you stop attacking, allowing for a retreat to safety

Like all 3DS games from Nintendo these days, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. will be available both physically and digitally. Those who opt for the latter option will need to reserve 8,390 blocks of space on their SD (or microSD) card.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. launches tomorrow in North America. Europe is getting the game in May.

Rumor: Splatoon to possibly be delayed in Europe?

There is a screenshot of what appears to be an email from Amazon Italy that states that there has been a delay to the release of Splatoon for Europe. The email goes on to say that the game has been delayed in Europe until July and would ship around July 2 – 7.

The email was posted on a European site that focuses on Nintendo related news and games. At this time there is no confirmation on whether or not this rumor has any credence but stay tuned as we will update as more information becomes available.

Nintendo shows how the Toad amiibo functions in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

The upcoming Super Mario line of amiibo, which launches March 20th, brings Toad alongside Mario, Peach, Bowser, Luigi and Yoshi. We’ve known for a while that Captain Toad would have amiibo functionality, and that Toad would be connected, but we never knew HOW it would work. Well, Nintendo just released this quick video to show off what it’s like once you scan in the lovable character.

Those that haven’t had the chance to play Captain Toad yet and are excited for the upcoming Super Mario amiibo line now have more incentive than ever to pick it up. Also noted in the video, Japan has the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker amiibo bundle now dated for a March 26th release. No word yet on the bundle launching west. You can check out the boxart here
