Switch

Warriors Orochi 4

Warriors Orochi 4 was previously given a September 27 release date in Japan. The game will follow a few weeks later in the west, with Koei Tecmo announcing today that it’s planned for October 16 in North America and October 19 in Europe.

Hot on the heels of E3 2018, Koei Tecmo has also confirmed that Warriors Orochi 4 will bring back split-screen co-op. Split Joy-Con play is possible on Switch as well.

Wolfenstein II

Panic Button has quickly become an expert when it comes to Switch ports. Having worked on the Switch versions of Bethesda’s Doom and Wolfenstein II as well as Rocket League, the studio knows how to get demanding titles up-and-running on the system.

Speaking with MCV, Panic Button boss Adam Creighton spoke about the window between a game’s initial release date and the Switch release. He says the window is “shrinking all the time for those publishers and developers who are planning on Switch at the outset.”

Fortnite is breaking the mold with voice chat on Switch. The game has its own in-game voice chat functionality, meaning you don’t need to use the Nintendo Switch Online app in order to communicate with others.

In light of this news, Turtle Beach confirmed today it now offers 25 headsets in its current product lineup (not including prior legacy models) that are fully compatible with Fortnite’s in-game chat system on Switch. The company also revealed two new products at E3 last week – the Recon 200 and Stealth 300 – that are both optimally built for Fortnite on Switch as well as other Battle Royale games.

FIFA 19

More and more games these days are starting to offer cross-platform play. Could FIFA offer the same sort of functionality in the future? Possibly.

FIFA creative director Matt Prior spoke about the subject in an interview with Eurogamer at E3 last week. Prior said the team has looked into cross-platform play, stating:

Runbow has received a new release date on Switch following a previous delay. The game will launch via the eShop on July 3.

A physical version is also planned for Q3. It’ll include all DLC and two stickers.

We have more information about Runbow below, along with a trailer.

Steins;Gate Elite will launch in Japan on September 20, 5pb. announced today. Pricing is set at 7,800 yen for physical copies and 7,000 yen for the download version.

Here’s the opening movie:

Dragon Ball FighterZ might be coming to Switch soon, but that isn’t stopping Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 from receiving new content. It’s been announced that this Summer, Dragon Ball GT villain Super Baby 2 will be available as DLC.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ was officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch at E3 with a release date of “2018”. Today, a concrete release date has been announced for Japan – September 27.

The Switch version will come with a couple of new features. Among those is the simplified “Exteme Type” control type, which makes it easier to pull off certain moves by using the L + R buttons. For example, using L + R + the heavy attack button will unleash a meteor attack. The game also supports playing with one Joy-Con, so you can easily play multiplayer matches on one Switch. Also, SSGSS Son-Goku and Vegeta will be unlockable earlier.

In Japan, the game will also come with a download code for the SNES game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden as well as a Super Rare card for the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game.

This bonus stuff likely won’t be part of the Western release, but the release date of September 27 seems possible for outside Japan as well. We will keep you updated.
