According to Sean Booth of Autechre fame, the music duo almost got a chance to create the soundtrack for Metroid Prime.
The information was revealed during a Twitch AMA with one fan asking about how Booth as well as Rob Brown – the other half of Autechre – were included in the game’s credits. Booth responded by saying that they almost handled the soundtrack for Metroid Prime, but the role eventually landed with Kenji Yamamoto, who handled music for other entries in the series.
Curve Games and DoubleMoose Games have prepared a new 1.4 update for Just Die Already, their mayhem sandbox game.
The patch addresses a slew of issues. These include progression problems, an “Always Online” issue, and general bug fixes.

Neon Abyss has announced its next major patch known as the “Cornucopia Update”. Players on Switch can access it starting on August 15, 2022.
After installing the update, players will find that the Switch version to be in parity with the PC release. Additionally, the Chrono Trap DLC can be obtained for free between August 16 and August 30.

Ahead of the game’s release later this year, Type-Moon has published a new character trailer for Witch on the Holy Night that highlights Aoko Aozaki.
As a reminder, the title is a visual novel that was originally made for PC in 2012. It’s now seeing a console release for the first time with full voice acting and HD resolution.
Square Enix issued a new “Game Explanation” trailer today for The DioField Chronicle, its upcoming strategy RPG. Currently the video has only been published in Japanese, but we’ll update this post if an English equivalent goes live.

A new Splatoon 3 Direct will air on August 10, Nintendo has announced. The presentation will air over a 30-minute period.

The block-building party game Block’Em will be appearing on Switch, publisher Curve Games and Swedish studio Cat Shawl Games announced today. It will initially be available this September for PC, with the Switch version following later.
Block’Em is an action-filled block-building party game for 2 to 4 players. In it, players must be the first to reach the goal or be the last Block standing, though the arena will be chaotic and has obstacles like fireballs. Both online and local multiplayer are supported.
Signalis is expected on Switch later this year, but a physical version hadn’t been announced – until now that is.
In Japan, Playism has confirmed that it picked up the game for publishing. And as part of that, the company intends to make a physical version available in the region. The survival horror title will also fully support English, so any Switch owner can import the survival horror title and play it.
